I expect we'll be seeing lots of red-carpet looks from Amy Adams, as her latest flick, Julie and Julia will be released in theaters next Friday. At last night's NYC premiere, Amy amped up the volume with some bouncy waves and a warm, glowing face. "We went for a steel and copper smokey lid, gorgeous full lashes, a peachy cheek, and a golden amber lip," said CoverGirl celebrity makeup artist Molly R. Stern, who created the look.

"Last night Amy wore a gorgeous full-length Carolina Herrera gown with a charcoal and white pattern speckled with gold beading. So I borrowed from that exquisite color palette," Stern said. How-To: Elizabeth Banks's Sweet and Sexy Makeup

Elizabeth Banks is often spotted sporting old-school hairstyles. And as the actress walked the red carpet earlier today at the Cannes Film Festival, Fab and I couldn't help but notice. While Elizabeth chose a head-to-toe beaded gown and vintage-inspired hairstyle in a longer length, it was her combination of makeup tones that caught our attention. A smokey palette of dusty purple-gray ones on the eyes, coupled with soft pink on the lips and cheeks, made for a perfect balance of sweet and sexy - ideal for any upcoming Spring or Summer soirée.

If you're thinking about replicating this look at home, I've got tips on re-creating it when you read more.

Eyes: Generously line both the upper and lower lash lines with black pencil, such as Maybelline Expert Eyes Pencil in Velvet Black ($3). Next, apply the deeper-toned gray shadow from Rimmel Colour Rush Quad Eye Shadow in Smokey Purple ($6.29) on the lids. Tap onto the liner to lock it in. Finally, create a soft winged-out look by adding either of the medium-toned smokey purple shades to the outer contours of the eyes. Smudge into the lower lash line for a cohesive look. For extra drama, try a shimmering pale pink highlighter right below the brow, like Bare Escentuals Eye Color in Cultured Pearl ($13).
Cheeks and lips: Since the cheek and lip colors match so closely in this look, why not go the route of a multitasker? Try Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks ($22) in Powder Pink for that fresh-faced glow.

The breezy look is topped off with shiny pink gloss and a dewy face.

Smoky Eyes Have Never Been So Simple

With the help of these smoky eye shadow palettes, getting that sultry, come-and-get-me eye makeup look has never been easier. All you have to do is blend the lightest colour just under the brow bone, use the second lightest shade all over the lid (stop at the crease), add the medium dark shadow to the crease (remembering to blend well) and you can deepen the crease and line your eyes with the darkest shadow. See, it's a cinch! Below are three of my favourite smoky eye palettes for a smouldering eye.

Laura Mercier Eye Colour Quad Storm Cloud (£26, don't worry, they ship to the UK) was a limited-edition quad that came out last Summer, so if you like it, you'll need to act fast (it's about to be discontinued) that includes four powder shadows designed to create a classic grey smoky eye. You can use each of the shadows alone or blend them together.

Chanel Les Ombres 4 Smoky Eyes (£33) is a rich in pigment powder shadow quad that contains four frost, matte and satin colours. You can use the shadows either wet or dry, and either way they spread easily and create a profound impact.

Love It or Hate It? Scarlett Johansson's Really Red Look

In January, Stefano Gabbana of the famed design duo of Dolce and Gabbana, told WWD that lipstick would be the core piece of the their new makeup collection. "When I see a woman madeup, I look straight to the lips," he said.

Yesterday, at an event following Dolce and Gabbana's runway show in Milan, Scarlett Johansson, the newly tapped spokesperson for the design duo's first makeup collection, was in attendance. As for those bold lips? Gabbana wasn't kidding around. Scarlett, looking a little paler than normal - could be the foundation, or perhaps the paparazzi's camera flashes? - wore a richly pigmented red lip with sultry, brown smokey eyes. London Fashion Week A/W 2009: Vivienne Westwood

Vivenne Westwood may be 68 years old, but she hasn't lost touch with the kids. She closed the second day of London Fashion Week on Saturday with this St. Trinian's inspired collection filled with checked mini skirts, ties and dresses from school scarf fabric. There was also plenty of her signature tartan on display with a bright colour palette and typical Westwood tailoring. One of the highlights of the show was Jo Wood making a catwalk appearance modeling a robe based on the one designed by Westwood for King's College.

Daisy Lowe also strutted down the runway for the first time at this London Fashion Week looking gorgeous with smokey eyes and voluminous hair. There were a few frocks with red carpet potenial including a corseted LBD and a one shouldered gown. Considering recent Westwood shows, this one was surprisingly unpolitical. Bella Interview: Leslie Blodgett, Part One

As promised last week, here's more of my interview with Leslie Blodgett, the founder of Bare Escentuals. In this installment, she imparts her wisdom about what she sees way too much of, how to update your makeup for Fall, and shares her best beauty advice.

What do people ask the most about on your tours?
Leslie Blodgett: The master class is mostly about eye looks. The smokey eye is the number one thing people are so intimidated by, how to make it smoke out without looking like too much. We just launched The Rocker Eye, it's a fun look, too. Even for day, you can do a soft-rock look. Go over the whole lid with a very dark shade. We like a little metallic in there. Then take the pointy part of the brush and go under the eye, as close to the lash line as possible. You could also do the light shade and the contour, but it's easier to just do the lid and blend it out under the eye.

What's the best beauty advice you've ever heard or given?

Leslie Blodgett: Always take off your mascara. I know so much about lashes now - when they fall out, they take so long to grow back in. You really have to treat them with care. If you sleep and you roll around, they're going to crunch up and fall out. Don't wear waterproof mascara unless you're extremely greasy or you swim. Waterproof is not recommended.

What's the biggest mistake you see people make?
Leslie Blodgett: Too much blush. And I'm a huge fan of blush. I recommend you wear it, but put a little bit, sweep it once. Don't go back a couple times. Especially in bad lighting, it looks hideous. But another mistake is to not wear it at all.

What's the best way to update your makeup for the Fall?
Leslie Blodgett: Lavenders and plums and grey tones on the lids. We have a shade called Soft Black. Lipstick instead of lipgloss. We want more of an opaque mouth. Lots more mascara.

Dust off your Ramones albums, and start tapping your feet to the tunes of The Clash. Natasha Bedingfield's in town rocking some major punk style. How much more hardcore can you get than with some tightly shorn hair on one side swept up into a wildly teased updo on the other? As for the makeup, she's keeping it real with her hard-edged smokey eye. Sweetly pink lips and cheeks lend a contrasting detail. This look definitely doesn't have me sedated. What do you think?
