Following recent script woes, Sony has announced via press release that it's pulling the plug on Spider-Man 4. In its place, they're developing a fresh storyline that takes the webslinger back to high school. The film will reportedly focus "on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises" (wait, I thought that was the first Spider-Man?!).

If you're one of the good people in California, like Seal, who has sworn off using their cell phone while driving because of the new law, then maybe you will appreciate this car cell phone holder. Oh, and you love Spiderman? You're all set.

Ever wonder about all the fun camera angles you could capture on film if you were Spiderman - or at least Tobey Maguire? Then you probably need a MonsterPod, a new camera "tripod" that can stick to any surface and hang, with the help of its “patent pending viscoelastic morphing polymer Super Grip.”
Its maker says it's "not a tripod, a monopod, or hovering robot. It's MonsterPod, the gravity defying tripod that holds your digital camera motionless, vertically, horizontally or upside down!"

Spider-Man 4 may be dead, but Sony is wasting no time in moving on to its replacement. Word is the studio has hired (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb to orchestrate the first film in the new saga — as well as two additional movies based around the younger Peter Parker and his spandexed alter ego. The news may seem surprising for a relative newcomer to feature film, but Webb supposedly has two things in his favor: Columbia's chairman Amy Pascal likes him, and he comes with a much cheaper price tag than veteran Sam Raimi.

The rumor mill keeps churning about Spider-Man 4. Let's recap: First, word spread that Rachel McAdams would be playing new villain Felicia Hardy, aka The Black Cat in the fourquel — hearsay which McAdams later denied. Earlier this week Julia Stiles's name started floating around instead.

I've been waiting for some kind of casting update on Spider-Man 4 for a while now, and this week rumors are flying about the franchise's newest bad guys. There have been whispers that the next film may feature two villains (male and female), and that Rachel McAdams is in talks to play Felicia Hardy, aka The Black Cat.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but I like the sound of this news; I'm a big fan of McAdams and I think she's too often pigeonholed into playing the nice girl (except for Regina George, obviously).

The stars of Spider-Man 3 got their very first look at their much anticipated sequel in Tokyo last night. Yummy James Franco looked marvelous and Tobey looked dapper while Kirsten looked sweet yet kinda like she's trying to hide something in all those pink layers. Based on the record-breaking success of the first two Spiderman flicks, we're willing to bet that the latest installment won't disappoint at the box office.
