I'm all about making my own iPhone or cell stand out of random objects, but if you want more of a traditional (read: new) and purposeful item, check out the sleek Philippi Mobile Phone Panel ($26).
This handy chrome desk accessory props up your cell so you can watch TV shows, make for easy viewing of your Twilight clock, or keep an obsessive eye out for any signs of a ring. It also works as a stand for your iPod or MP3 player so you can rock your tunes upright to quickly and easily check the titles of songs, or flip through your playlists.

If you're like me you spend half the day picking up your cell phone to see if it's vibrating or if you're just losing your mind. That obsession can be easily fixed by creating a cell phone stand, which will allow you to screen your calls, or watch videos on your device (iPhone, iPod, PMP, other) without having to hold it up at a comfortable angle.
Instructables has put together a simple guide to creating a stand for your iPod or cell phone out of a business card.

When I first saw the pink beaded strands in this One Night Stand Kit ($19), I thought they were hair rubber bands, which actually could come in handy during an unexpected hookup. But no, they are "love beads," packaged alongside a tiny vibrator, a vibrator ring, Please Gel samples, and two condoms — everything you'd need for a one-night stand. (This is basically the Walk of Shame Kit but without the cancer awareness bracelet!) Assuming you don't live in Alabama, would you buy something like this?

What recession? Remember last week, when I pinpointed Target's pricier version of my beloved Dave laptop stand from Ikea?
Yeah.

I first saw Hawaiian grass skirts used to conceal clutter in one of my favorite decorating books, Pad. A few years ago, frustrated with the lack of stylish TV stands available, I decided to create my own grass-skirted version with a shelf I bought at Ikea. (Please forgive the poor quality of the photo; I've since upgraded to a new stand and couldn't take another one.)
By attaching the grass skirt to swiveling curtain rods that open and close like cabinets, you have a fun and funky way to conceal your DVD player and DVDs underneath.

Remember all that noise I talked about desperately wanting to mount my flat screen to my wall? Well, I might have to take that back — IF I can have the Prism 50 Media Stand, yet another fabulous and inspirational piece from my design guru, Karim Rashid.
The Prism 50 comes in black and white or all black, and it's just modern simplicity at its sexiest.

Some of my girlfriends are pearl girls, while others favor pairs of bold '80s earrings. Some wear a few wide cuffs at a time, and for others, a delicate tennis bracelet will do. But regardless of what they wear, every girl has a bit of jewelry.

I'd like to say that I do most of my work sitting upright at my desk, but in reality, that's not always the case. You're more likely to find me curled up on the couch working on my computer, or propped up watching a movie in bed. I've also created makeshift work spaces in airports while waiting for flights, my kitchen floor, and even on the city bus.
