One LBD can go a long way. Ask kringkles, she knows what I mean. Her black frock has all the essential details: a fabulous cut, cool detailing, and a flattering fit. As always, a stunning piece of jewelry is important - her gold coin necklace is the icing on the style cake. I'm also digging the cool blackout backdrop. Now, that's good photography.

A red carpet without jewelry is like a candy store without, well, candy. Large earrings may be making their mark in the fashion world, but that doesn't mean statement necklaces are over. No, no. In fact, a handful of ladies strutted the red carpet in necklaces that beautifully complemented their gowns and elevated their looks. Amy Adams (in Fred Leighton), Taraji Henson, and Amanda Seyfried's necklaces had the most wow of the night, but Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard also decked their necks out. Source

Attention! J.Crew just announced its Spring sale extravaganza. I already took a peek inside and came across some great outerwear, tops, and footwear.

I also discovered this hidden treasure: Enameled Tile Necklace ($90, originally $125). You may think it's still pricey for costume jewelry, but I beg to differ. Unlike a dress that loses its novelty the fourth time you wear it, a colorful statement necklace is something you can wear a hundred times, and it will make your ensemble pop every time.

How I love Rihanna, let me count the ways . . . Severe statement necklace a la Burberry. Perfectly fitted black jumpsuit - check out the sharp shoulders, cropped leg, and pockets. Pointy toe pumps. And smiley face nails! Not only is the jumpsuit/necklace combo fantastic, the playful nails are pure Rihanna style. She knocked our socks off with her anti-ball gown at the Jingle Bell Ball in London. Daring and creative looks like this granted her a spot on our Queen of the Red Carpet 2008 poll.

It's hard keeping up with trends; nevertheless, it's an obsession of mine. While I bring you daily trend alerts, there were several trends that kept our attention throughout the year. Some tempered volume - shoulder love and the new crop of pants - these trends are for the more daring fashion darling. Meanwhile, the It bag gave way to the It shoe. Designers showcased over-the-top shoes on the Spring and Fall runways - to many a model's demise. We bought more clutches this year than ever before (oops). Countless celebrities shined thanks to statement necklaces and florals bloomed like crazy. We know which trend we hope lives on, what about you?
