PopSugarUK Meets the Me & Orson Welles Cast Part Two: Christian Becomes Orson, Zac Talks Bad Auditions!

Following on from last week's part one of my interview with the Me and Orson Welles cast - Zac Efron, Claire Danes and Christian McKay - and director Richard Linklater, here's part two! Last night the cast attended a screening of the film in NYC alongside Claire's husband Hugh Dancy, Precious actress Gabby Sidibe and Stephen Dorff. In London last week, they discussed finding Orson Welles, knowing who he actually was (!) and Zac told us about his worst audition. Look out for part three later this week, but here's some more from Zac, Claire, Christian and Richard:

Christian, as a film newcomer were you nervous about playing such a strong character as Orson against old hands like Zac and Claire?

Zac, were you concerned that your largely teen fanbase wouldn’t have heard of Orson Welles?
Z - "Not concerned, I thought this was a good opportunity to reveal to them the genius that is Orson Welles. Perhaps the kids that don’t know about Orson will maybe have more of an opinion on him when they start to study him in school, have some more perspective, some insight into the life of this American icon."

But it didn't put you off, you knew you wanted to do this?
Z - "Not at all, are you kidding?"
R - "A real actor... you can't ever... if a little rejection puts you off? Then you're not a real actor. That's so much a part of it, you know? It's got to be so much in your blood.
Z (deadpans) - "Because I was really acting at that point."

Halle, John, Padma, and Adrian Have a Ball Together

Halle Berry went sexy in her cutout dress last night for Keep a Child Alive's 6th Annual Black Ball in NYC. She had her best accessory, boyfriend Gabriel, on her arm, as she walked the red carpet alongside Adrian Grenier and pregnant Padma Lakshmi. John Mayer made an appearance solo as rumors about his rekindled romance with Jennifer Aniston circulate, though you guys seem to think their giving it another go is a pretty terrible idea. Today happens to be John's 32nd birthday, so it looks like he got a head start on the celebrating.

All the Stars Step Out to Make the Afterparty Rounds

The MTV VMAs was a party in itself, but when the show ended all the celebs spread out around town to keep the good times and red carpet highlights rolling. Lady GaGa was joined by Kristin Cavallari, Russell Brand, Jessica Alba, and Diddy for a bash at Avenue, while an Epic Records dinner at the Waverly Inn brought out Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Shakira. Pete Wentz hosted friends at his bar Angels & Kings, and InTouch's ICONS + IDOLS soiree gathered Kim Kardashian, Whitney Port, Gerard Butler and even Jon Gosselin. Jay-Z hit the official MTV post-awards celebration, as did Justin Timberlake and a tummy-baring Rihanna, before heading to 1Oak for an after-after party with Jessica Alba and Katy Perry.

Sweet Johnny, Christian and Marion Take Public Enemies to LA

Johnny Depp wore his usual blue sunglasses and sexy unbuttoned shirt at the LA premiere of Public Enemies last night. He was without Vanessa, but his costar Christian Bale had his wife Sibi on his arm. The boys were joined by their glamorous leading lady in the movie, Marion Cotillard. Their highly-anticipated holiday weekend movie hits theaters next week but we're also already getting an idea of upcoming projects - or not - for both Johnny and Christian. This week we got a peek at Johnny and his costars in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland masterpiece while Christian hinted there might not be another Batman coming our way.

Sofia Coppola Sets Next Movie in Legendary Hollywood Hot Spot

I can't believe it's been nearly three years since Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette came out, and I'm happy to learn she's getting back to making movies - this time set in the present day at a famed hotel.

Titled Somewhere, her next movie centers on "a bad-boy actor stumbling through a life of excess at the Chateau Marmont. With an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter, he is forced to reexamine his life."

Stephen Dorff will play the actor and Elle Fanning will play his daughter. I'm a little surprised by the Dorff casting because one of the last things I remember seeing him in was in a Britney Spears video. Landing the lead in a Sofia Coppola movie is a big deal and might signal a Mickey Rourke-like comeback for Dorff. He's also set to appear in the much anticipated Public Enemies.

I'm also intrigued by the Chateau Marmont setting because there is so much Hollywood lore associated with the place. Despite how glamorous it looks on the outside, it's also a symbol of the dark side of fame. John Belushi tragically died of a drug overdose there, it's where Lindsay Lohan took refuge after her 2007 arrest for drunk driving, and it's where Jim Morrison of The Doors suffered major injuries after dangling from a drain pipe (he was trying to jump off the balcony of the hotel). Definitely a good spot to explore Hollywood excess, that's for sure.

US-Bound BMI Winner Lily Helps Nigella Launch Saatchi

Nigella Lawson looked gorgeous at her husband's Saatchi Gallery Launch Party last night on the King's Road, and a host of celebrities braved the weather to welcome the artworks to their new home in Chelsea. Mariella Frostrup wrapped up in an on-trend chunky knit, while still sexy Stephen Dorff continued his leather jacket and plaid shirt combo. Lily Allen went monochrome in fashion and beauty: BellaUK wants to know do you love or hate her look? The singer had a successful evening, also picking up her gong for "Smile" at the BMI Awards. She also revealed she's finally been allowed a US work visa, after being banned following a scuffle with a photographer.

Stephen Dorff is on our shores once more, visiting the Radio One studios in London yesterday. It's been a while since we've seen shirtless shots of Stephen, but with our British weather he's probably best off keeping covered up. He's got that whole rough-around-the-edges look going on with his leather jacket and facial hair, and I want to know what you make of it, so tell me: is Stephen Dorff still sexy, or just so so?

Stephen's Tan Taunts The Rainy Weather In London

The rather gorgeous Stephen Dorff is in London at the moment, and spent last night at Whisky Mist with some female friends. He looked fairly merry as he left, making faces and almost sticking his hand down his trousers – not sure why. One thing's for certain though, he definitely didn't get that tan in England recently did he?! Hmm, now I'm praying for some warmer weather here. What I wouldn't give to see shirtless Stephen on a UK beach...

TIFF Is Chock Full Of The Hotness

From Brad and Angie to Matt and Ben, the Toronto Film Festival brought out all the big names this weekend - and here are some more of the pretty little faces. Quite the marquee of names descending on the Canadian city - there are some lucky folks who probably got some amazing celebrity sightings out of it. Clive is always a treat while Cate and Kate both looked adorable in pink (and loving Bosworth's shoes). Naomi, of course, looked great but sadly still had no Liev by her side. Also, I'm definitely not complaining about a little Javier Bardem or Stephen Dorff - am I right or am I right, ladies?

Stephen Dorff To Do TV - Somewhere Jeremy Piven Cackles

Last summer you might remember a little altercation that went down at Bungalow 8 when Stephen Dorff cut in front of Jeremy Piven at the loo. If you don't, that's probably a sign of your good character but I will fill you in. Before expletives were exchanged and security guards were called Jeremy called Stephen a has-been, to which the Blade star replied: "At least I am a movie star - you're only on TV! Cable TV!"

Now, however it seems Stephen will have to eat his words as he's made a deal to play the lead in the new CBS pilot Skip Tracer. In the show his character will track down missing people in LA. Not sure how this is different from Without a Trace except for the location but whatever. Stephen Dorff may have a reputation for being kind of a jerk but he's cute so we'll give it a chance.
