In case you hadn't noticed, the warmer Spring-to-Summer weather has put me in the mood for seafood 24/7. In the last few days, I've drooled over mussels and eaten oysters raw and fried at the Oyster Fest. As though someone read my mind, I received a copy of The Summer Shack Cookbook, a compendium of New England shack-style seafood recipes from Jasper White, the chef and owner of the East Coast's Summer Shack restaurants.

500 Days of Summer doesn't make its debut in theaters until July 17, but I've already got an eye on the sets. Here, Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt stand on a rooftop in full Summer style. Of course, the pair look quite dapper in a beautifully patterned sundress and a sharp suit, but it's the paper lanterns that complete the scene.

The Last Song is based on Nicholas (The Notebook) Sparks' latest novel. Set in a small Southern beach town, a reluctant New York teen (Miley Cyrus) has to spend the Summer with her estranged father (Greg Kinnear). He tries to reconnect with her through music, while she's busy falling for a local boy.

I doubt that I would ever think of painting a cottage these two colors. Still, the contrast between the Mediterranean blue and rusty brick red is certainly eye-catching, and there's something so innocent and playful about the combination. In fact, it almost seems as if odd, surprising colors should be de rigueur for Summer getaways.

A good coat is integral to your wardrobe as through the winter months it will probably be your most worn item. I have a few coats that I switch between, and all of them need to be dry cleaned.
I definitely like to have them all cleaned over the Summer so they're ready for the Autumn, but I will also clean them a couple more times through the Winter.

One of the reasons I look forward to Summer is the remarkable seasonal fare that comes along with the warm weather, from barbecue to ceviche to tropical Popsicles and everything in between. Since Party and I have had such a blast putting together Summer recipes (we instated an ice cream sandwich series in years past), we've decided to bring you a brand new series: Summer of salads.
From a crunchy classic Caesar to a Calabrian tuna panzanella, this season is sure to be all about refreshing salads that will keep you going even when the mercury rises.

Whether you're building sandcastles or just burrowing your feet, getting sandy is an essential part of going to the beach. But if la playa plays into your vacation plans, be warned: beach sand can contain bacteria known to cause stomach bugs.
Though sand often looks and feels clean, remember that germs are everywhere.

Dear Fit,
Over the Summer I've definitely been overindulging, chowing down at BBQs, eating tons of ice cream on hot days, and drinking more beer and cocktails in a weekend than I would in an entire month the rest of the year. I know it's not the healthiest, but hey, it's Summer and it only comes once a year. I haven't really gained weight, but I feel pretty disgusting.

From watching the French Open on TV to playing pickup volleyball at the beach, team and individual sports are a crucial part of Summer fun. If you're spending the warm months golfing, playing doubles, going swimming, or just watching from the sidelines, see how well you know your Summer sports jargon.

This is a different kind of Summer concert series: a series of stretches! Because while you're never too old to go see live music, being on your feet all day doesn't get any easier as you age. It can be tough on your back and your leg muscles, especially if you worked out earlier in the day.
