At the weekend The Sunday Times published its annual rich list of the 1000 most wealthy people in the UK. It also published the music, sport and young person lists, so without further ado here's a few of our favourite stars and where they come in among all those moneyspinners.

Amy And Leona Are Musical Millionaires

Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis are among the young (under 30) musicians making it onto the Sunday Times Rich List this year. Despite Amy's rollercoaster personal life, her talent for music is making her plenty of money and she's worth an estimated £10million. Leona's catching up fast thanks to her success in the US, with her fortune estimated at a whopping £6million already!

Topping the Young Millionaires list is George Harrison's son Dhani (£160mill), next comes violinist Vanessa Mae (£32mill), and three members of Coldplay who are worth £30million each. A lot of money, right? But when they add the music millionaires over 30 it all gets even more insane! Clive Calder, founder of Zomba records, hits the top spot with a net worth of £1.3billion, dwarfing Andrew Lloyd Webber (£750mill), Sir Paul McCartney (£500mill) and relatively poor David and Victoria Beckham who are in 20th place with £125million. I don't know about you, but all these numbers are making my head spin.

Fashion's Movers and Shakers in the Sunday Times Rich List

Yesterday, The Sunday Times published their annual rich list and it was not without a few fashion faces. Obviously, because of the financial climate it's been a tumultuous year for cash flow, but some of the biggest names in retail have managed to stay high up in the list. Sir Philip Green has made an enormous impact on the High Street, particularly with Topshop which recently launched in New York. He is sixth in the list, along with his wife Lady Green, reportedly owning £3.83 billion despite losing £500 million in the past 12 months.

Other key fashion names in the list included BFC chairman Harold Tilman at number 201. He has investments in Jaeger, and has unfortunately lost £70 million this year. Paul Smith is also on the list and is well placed for the difficult time ahead having just opened a warehouse in his hometown of Nottingham. He lost £30 million, but still holds on to a cool £230 million.

Tamara Mellon is one of only 100 women in the list and has managed to keep her wealth at an equal level to last year at £102 million. She has recently made significant investments in the revival of Halston which has so far been very successful.

It was announced that Alexa Chung's US TV debut will be on The Alexa Chung Show, an MTV replacement for TRL, airing every weekday over the summer.

Economy Is Treating Simon Cowell Better Than Sir Elton John

Simon Cowell is sitting pretty while most everyone else has watched their worth sink during the recession, including the most wealthy British musicians. Compared to his contemporaries, Simon's net worth may not be the biggest of them all, but it's the only lot that increased last year. His worth went up 7 percent while others saw theirs drop. Cowell's net worth is said to be $175.2 million. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, here's how other famous Brits have been affected by the economy.

Sir Paul McCartney: His fortune has taken a 12 percent hit, from $730 million to $642.4 million.
Sir Elton John: Some of the decrease in his net worth may be attributed to his generous donations, but last year his worth fell 26 percent, from $343.1 million to $255.5 million.
Mick Jagger: This Rolling Stone is down 16 percent, with a current net worth of $277.4 million.
Sting: Call the police, he has $262.8 million, which is 10 percent less than he had last year.

A TV talent search to find someone to play Jade Goody in a new musical version of her life is being planned, although currently there are no networks signed up to the idea. Max Clifford has offered his services to be a judge if it comes to fruition. - BBC

Amy Denies Affair, But Blake Wants To Divorce?

Amy Winehouse's love life is the subject of much speculation this week – first her Dad confirmed rumours that she was having an affair with her manager's assistant, next she apparently spoke to a photographer outside her house denying that was true and that she was going to be with Blake forever. Finally there's reports that, after all this talk of Amy's alleged affair, Blake wants to file for divorce, and is hoping for a payout of £3million.

Whatever is actually going on, it seems like there's a lot of complications in Amy's life right now. On the up side though, her career is still peachy – Mark Ronson has confirmed that he is working with Amy on a song they will submit as the Bond theme, she's been added to the lineup performing at Nelson Mandela's 90th Bday celebrations, and lets not forget she was placed on the Sunday Times Rich List last week.

School Attack Plots in April. Copycats or Coincidence?

Students at Chesterfield High School in South Carolina are arriving at school this morning to metal detectors and police presence following a weekend arrest of a student accused of plotting an attack on the school. The alleged mastermind, Ryan Schallenberger, 18, is due in court this afternoon for a bond hearing. He was arrested this weekend after his parents alerted police to the 10 pounds of ammonium nitrate that was delivered to their home and their discovery of a disturbing journal. Police said that he'd kept a journal for more than a year detailing his plans for a suicide attack and including maps of the school and that "he seemed to hate the world. He hated people different from him-the rich boys with good-looking girlfriends."

Earlier this month, a group of third graders in Georgia were discovered to have conceived of a plan to knock their teacher unconscious with a paperweight, bind her with toy handcuffs and duct tape, and then stab her with a steak knife. It seems as though the nine boys and girls divvied up tasks to carry out the plan, with one plotting to cover up the window while another would be assigned to clean up the mess. April is a scary month. In the past 15 years, the month has seen the Virginia Tech massacre and the Columbine shootings, not to forget the Waco incident and the Oklahoma City bombing. All of these events happened within the same week of the month. Historically, both Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. were assassinated during this month, which also marked the start of both the American Revolution and Civil War.

Do we perceive a cloud of tragedy over the month precisely because news of anniversaries of events like Virginia Tech meets new instances like the weekend arrest in South Carolina and prompts people to pay more attention to the possibility for coincidence? Or have these plots truly become a copycat tribute to atrocities that have come before? Some scientists think that the increased light during the month of April lifts the previously depressed into a manic state. Having had all winter alone with dark thoughts, the mentally disturbed awake with new motivation behind their rage.

Police in South Carolina say that in his journal, Schallenberger said he admired the two attackers who killed 13 people at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999 before committing suicide. The Columbine attack happened nine years ago Sunday. Did the parents and police discover a copycat catastrophe just in time, or was it just a coincidence? Is it seasonal?
