Gotta love them low-budget commercials, especially when they get their inspiration from Wacko Jacko. Since when do zombies and dead people make good car salesmen? And since when do car salesmen make good recording artists?

How do you know that Summer's just a few weeks away? When there's a seemingly endless list of epicurean events and food festivals. We can hardly straddle them all, but have plans to hit up San Francisco Cocktail Week, shake hands with sake brewers at the Joto Sake Tasting, slurp a few slippery ones at Oysterfest, and swirl Sauvignon Blanc at the Uncorked!

By now you must have heard that Starbucks is closing 600 of its stateside coffee shops. Last week Starbucks released the official list of the closing stores with a grand total of 616 closures. The closing stores are company-operated stand alone locations; no bookstore, super market, or airport Starbucks will be shuttered.

Florida Teacher Accused of Being Drunk at School Quits
Why teach middle school students boring old reading, writing, and arithmetic when you can show them how to party like a middle-aged rock star? That appears to have been 42-year-old Tampa Bay resident Kylene Nelson's strategy when she got so drunk at school she forced her terrified students to dance with her and then ran to a nearby recreation center where she passed out on some outdoor chairs. Students report being horrified that Nelson appeared to have no underwear on while she rubbed her butt all over them.

Spring is in the air, and that's evident with the number of fun food events going on this week that pay homage to everything from rum to crawfish.
We can't wait to taste our way through the year's best wines at Wine Enthusiast's annual Toast of the Town, and taste tequila cocktails made by SF's top mixologists at the Nirvino Mixology Contest.
What events will you be eating your way through this week?

October may be Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but the battle against the disease is fought daily. One great way to join the fight is to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation by participating in the Breast Cancer Three-Day Walk.

In some places — not San Francisco, I can tell you that — it's hot outside. When the sun is blaring, a lot of us start dripping in sweat especially when we're working out. MSNBC is reporting that your city may make you extra sweatier than others, which means you should take extra caution to hydrate and drink electrolytes on your outdoor workouts this Summer.
