Staying connected with your kids now involves technology. While back-to-school shopping means papers, pencils and knapsacks for most lil ones, some parents are also adding mobile phones to the supply list.
Thirty-eight percent of LilSugar readers said their children carry a cell phone with them, while 48 percent said they were against a school ban on the wireless devices.

I'm a total DIY freak, and appreciate websites that help me reach my crafting goals. Take my last DIY project: the charging station I made from an Ikea shelving unit. Now if I wanted to take that a step further, I could add some decorative fabric to the back panels and really make the shelf pop.

If you're planning a vacation soon and also could stand to learn more about the Kindle 2, you would do well to consider a cruise. Crystal Cruises is introducing a new service, a "technology concierge," who will teach cruise guests about their gadgets, be it Blackberry, iPhone, or Kindle.
Furthermore, the cruise line is also adding a "gadget committee" so that that technology concierges keep up on the latest and greatest in tech and will continue to be on top of their game.

I have never actually licked my phone or any other gadget that I own (I love them, but there is a line. Tongue love crosses it), but scientists are developing technology that would utilize your tongue to control computers and home gadgets.
The technology, called the Tongue Drive System, is being made primarily for patients with disabilities, and the concept involves using your tongue as "a joystick" to control wheelchairs, home appliances, and computers.

You know how great it is when you find exactly the item you were looking for on Amazon, but then realize you only have to spend a tiny more to get free super-saver shipping? You don't want to overspend, but you also can't think of anything else that you'd want to buy. This has happened to me many times when the amount I have to spend is less than five bucks.

Sometimes I just like things explained simply, in good old-fashioned plain English. For instance, it was so liberating when the guys from Commoncraft talked about Twitter in layman's terms, and now with a website called Apostrophe Me, you'll never misuse apostrophes again, thanks to their cute and detailed flow chart. Other things worth checking out on the site?

You know those annoying tweets from someone you randomly follow describing how awesome his life is? Even worse, how awesome he is? You don't have to sit back and idly peep their self-obsessed tweets any longer.

Another slow tech week on The City. This week, Whitney and the girls were busy hitting the party circuit and chatting up boys. (Side note: how cute is Freddie Fackelmayer?) Despite all the partying, there were a few geeky details in this week's episode — see how closely you were paying attention with this mini quiz.

One of the benefits of of digital technology is that every email, text, and voicemail is easily saved, stored, and relived. It's helpful when you're dating someone — I think it's both fun and cute to reread old messages. (Though I suppose this can get dicey when trying to cut your ex out of your digital life, but that's a topic for another day).
