I'm a sucker for listening to all my new favorite songs on YouTube, so when I saw this neat tip on Lifehacker, I wanted to share it with all of you! To get started you'll need Firefox and this Greasemonkey extension. The Googlesystem Blog explains that this Greasemonkey script creates a section titled "lyrics" below the video's description, and will display them when expanded (you'll notice different lyrics services for the song).

Trying to decipher Pearl Jam lyrics is like reading tea leaves: you just kind of have to make sh*t up. I love the "Misheard Lyrics" guy who has done this with almost all of their songs, including Yellow Ledbetter. You gotta wonder, do they even know what they're singing?

We've all heard Carmina Burana's "O Fortuna" at some point or another, but have we sat down and really listened to the lyrics? I never knew the song was so food-oriented. From tuna to cheese, chips, chili, cherries, and berries — it's all in there.

They can be corny and repetitive, but I never get sick of misheard lyrics. If anyone has ideas for a song or video that makes no sense, send 'em to me! I wanna Gnu, have you ever seen Lorraine.

Hugh Grant may have a reputation outside of the movies for being a bit of a cad, but for my money, he's one of the best romantic leads in all those corny movies you don't want to admit you like. Take Music and Lyrics. He plays a washed up pop singer who meets amateur lyricist Drew Barrymore, and they both fall in love with while writing songs together.

I can make out some of these lyrics, but most of what I caught makes about as much sense as this "translation." My fave? "I wanna be keeping you, worm."

We featured a "loose translation" of this popular Bollywood song a while back, but the following is the misheard lyrics version. If we believe everything our ears tell us, then the Bollywood bandwagon seems like a kinky good time! The unfashionable blue jeans and multi-colored t-shirts aren't workin' for me, though...

From their name, Pearl Jam (?!) to their lyrics, nothin' makes sense. Until now.

You know you've done it. You're listening to a song, you have no idea what's being sung, but later as you sing it to yourself you realize you've supplied some creative lyrics. Classic example?

No, I didn't just pick this one because Hugh Grant is deliciously British and charming. In Music and Lyrics Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore play a washed up singer (Grant) who is given a few days to compose a chart topping hit, and a younger woman who plays his muse (Barrymore). Front and center in most of the musical scenes in the movie are the ever-classy Ultrasone PROline 550 S-Logic Headphones.
