Though I am firmly rooted in the digital age, I am still obsessed with writing stuff down, everything from story ideas to grocery lists to random thoughts and reminders to myself. But writing is so much more rewarding when you have a cute little notebook to do it in. Here's a look at some of the most fabulous blank books I could find, from both mainstream and independent designers, so you can start taking notes in style.

Moleskine Large Plain Notebook, $14.95, available here. These classic, sturdy notebooks are said to have been a favorite of Hemingway and Matisse.

Tenth and Grant Periscope Notebook, $9.50, available here. This handcrafted book is made from recycled paper and soy-based inks.

Route 66 Journal, $13.75, available here. This adorable notebook, found by Anastasia, has a handy elastic strap so you can stow things inside.

Trend: Moleskine Notebooks

That's right folks, even in this age of BlackBerries, Treos and iPhones, the old school Moleskine notebook is making a comeback. According to Buzz Feed, my source for all things hip and hot, leather-bound notebooks are gaining a cult following as a low-tech PDA. GTD freaks and creative types - and those who are both - love the mini form factor of the Moleskine.

Sure, they don't have spell check, a web browser, calendar and built in calculator, but Moleskine notebooks (pronounced 'mol-a-skeen'-a') offer a place for us to exercise our most important geek muscle: our minds. Of course it helps that Moleskine journals have a history of popularity with artists, writers, intellectuals and travelers. How trendy are they? Companies like Moleskine US have gotten into the game by creating collection after collection of notebooks, including a line named after trendy cities like Paris, Prague, Rome, New York City and Barcelona. They cost $16.

Lomo Notebook: For All Your Deep Photography Thoughts

The vintage-loving souls who are into Lomo cameras (myself included) will dig this Lomo Notebook ($20), which asks you to get back to pen and paper for note-taking, not some fancy cell phone app.

While there's something charming and nostalgic about an old-school desk chair, it's about time it had a modern makeover. The ROSSIN L@p Chair (inquire for price) by German-based Design Ballendat is the second coming of the school desk chair. But, instead of a hefty compartment to store pencils and paperwork, and a writing surface, you can set your notebook computer on its curved arm and call on your hard drive for storage. I think these chairs would be ideal for Internet coffee shops, but I'd love one in my living room, too. My Macbook is practically a permanent resident on my sofa.
