Hollywood Ladies Come Out to Support GQ's Men of the Year

The Chateau Marmont hosted GQ's Men of the Year Awards last night in LA. A few of the magazine's honorees, including Zach Galifianakis, Tom Ford, and Neil Patrick Harris joined forces with starlets like Olivia Wilde and AnnaLynne McCord. January Jones hit the carpet alongside Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter as Alexander Skarsgard, who won a "Man Who Saved HBO" award, went from LAX to the bash - click here to check out the full list of winners.

Alexander stayed close to rumored girlfriend Kate Bosworth, despite recent reports of her being linked to other guys. Sarah Silverman, meanwhile, was there to keep Zach company as his fellow funny man Russell Brand took a night off from romancing Katy Perry to mingle with Quentin Tarantino. Lindsay Lohan also turned up for the event while drama with her father seems to finally be cooling off.

Tom Ford to Return to Womenswear

The rumors are true. Tom Ford has confirmed his return to womenswear. If all goes to plan, we won't have to wait too long; Ford is said to be looking at Fall 2010 as a potential launch date for the new line. All that's holding him up is financing. Currently, Tom Ford and his business partner Domenico De Sole are seeking an estimated $50 million to fund the endeavor. That's certainly a hefty sum, but Ford is confident that "things are getting better every day in most places. So I'm optimistic and this is something that I plan on doing for the next 30 years of my life, so if I have to wait another six months or a year [to launch women's], it's OK." 30 years of Tom Ford. Bring. It. On.

Fab Flash: Tom Ford to Launch Womenswear

It's the news that women across the globe have been waiting for, and now it seems that the wheels are in motion for it to happen as Tom Ford announces plans to return to womenswear. The American designer is famous for his work with Gucci in the late '90s, but in recent years has been focusing on menswear and film as his directorial debut is premiered around the world.

Last night, Tom was in Tokyo for the premiere of A Single Man and spoke to WWD about his plans for the future, "Financing is extremely expensive right now, so if we find financing in the right situation we’ll be able to start [a women’s collection] soon."

He added, "It will take me 18 months when I start, because [I have] to hire the team, find the factories, put everything together and then get the stores ready so there’s a place for these clothes." I would definitely be interested to see Ford's interpretation of womenswear, are you interested in his return?

London and Rome Host Film Stars Including Honest George

Several actors walked the red carpet this weekend at the London Film Festival and Rome Film Festival. Nicholas Hoult, Tom Ford, Colin Firth and Matthew Goode looked handsome in their suits at the premiere for A Single Man in London, and the capital also saw the premiere of Viggo Mortensen's The Road. Helen Mirren was in Rome for the The Last Station, and Terry Gilliam and Lily Cole were also in Italy for The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus premiere. Director Jason Reitman was in London for the premiere of Up in the Air on Sunday, having joined George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis for the Rome premiere the night before! As part of his promotion for his films, George has opened up about his relationships and growing old:

On relationships: "I’ve had some absolutely great relationships and some not so great relationships. I’ve been in some relationships where I’ve felt terribly alone. Just because you’re with someone it doesn’t mean you’re incredibly happy and complete. I’ve had some easy and natural, made-sense breakups as well as some rough ones. I deal with them the same way we all do: I’m successful with some and not so successful with others."
On getting older: "I’m kind of comfortable with getting older because it’s better than the other option, which is being dead. So I’ll take getting older. It’s an interesting thing to be able to watch yourself grow older on screen. I was watching Up In The Air and I thought, ‘Jesus, who’s the old, grey-haired guy?’ And it was me."

George also revealed he played a prank on Matt Damon to make his pal think he was gaining weight, and is working on a prank for his next victim Brad Pitt!

Tom Ford Womenswear - Could It Be?!

I hate to get hopes up, but it may finally happen: Tom Ford, womenswear. Tom's company, Tom Ford International, is seeking monies of more than £30 million (about $50 million) for a first collection. The former Gucci and YSL designer launched his namesake label in '04 and, not surprisingly, has had mad success via menswear, sunglasses, and fragrances. His film looks to be a winner; if this is true, no doubt Tom will bring sexy back to the runways . . .

Movie Preview: Colin Firth in A Single Man

When was the last time you were transfixed by a preview completely without dialogue? The trailer for the 1960s-set A Single Man instead relies on its visual strength, which it has in spades - not a complete surprise considering this is designer Tom Ford's directorial debut (and word is they have Mad Men's production design group).

Based on the Christopher Isherwood novel of the same name, A Single Man focuses on the unraveling of a man (Firth) after his partner dies. The trailer is filled with beauty and beauties in pain - watch for Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode, Ginnifer Goodwin and Lee Pace in the moody clip. I'm very curious about this movie, if only to see how fashion force Ford handles himself in this entirely different medium. His aesthetic is very sensual, which I hope translates to the screen. And I'd see nearly anything Coiln Firth is in.

Single Men and Nobody Close Venice Film Festival

The Venice Film Festival came to a close at the weekend. Jared Leto displayed yet another hairstyle as he joined Diane Kruger to premiere their film Mr Nobody after a photocall with their costars, then he hot-footed it back to New York for Fashion Week. The manjoyment at the festival was taken up another notch at the photocall and premiere of A Single Man, which saw director Tom Ford, Colin Firth, Nicholas Hoult and Matthew Goode get smart in suits and ties. Julianne Moore dazzled amongst the men in her green dress, and made it onto FabUK's leading ladies list. Colin Firth was honoured with the Best Actor award at the Closing Ceremony on Saturday, while director Samuel Maoz won the coveted Golden Lion Award.
