Jonathan Rhys Meyers Goes From Paris to Dublin With Love

Jonathan Rhys Meyers signed autographs for fans during a break in filming The Tudors in Dublin yesterday. He has flecks of grey in his hair and beard as he's playing an older Henry VIII in this final series, and was joined on set by his final wife, Joely Richardson. During the breaks between filming the series, Jonathan has been busy with film projects, and the trailer for his latest movie From Paris With Love has just been released: check it out after the jump. Jonathan stars as a low-ranking intelligence operative who partners with an American spy (John Travolta) who's in Paris to stop a terrorist attack, and the film is due out in 2010.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers In Costume: Hot Or Not?

While we're busy watching Jonathan Rhys Meyers in season two of The Tudors, the man himself is busy filming season three already. During a break from filming at Dublin Castle in Ireland, Jonathan was spotted wearing Tom Cruise style shoe lifts as part of his Henry VIII costume. I've got to admit those boot accoutrements don't do it for me, but Jonathan's still looking pretty good from the ankles up. What are your thoughts on Jonathan in his full Tudor garb: hot or not?

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Is Happy to be Back as Henry VIII

One of my favourite Irish actors Jonathan Rhys Meyers does the smouldering sexy look so well, but it's great to see him grinning at The Tudors Season 3 launch party in New York City yesterday. The actor reportedly entered rehab a month ago for the third time, but returned to work in LA after receiving treatment for alcoholism. Jonathan looked happy to pose alongside on-screen wives Tamzin Merchant and Annabelle Wallis, although Joss Stone was one wife who was absent. Jonathan Rhys Meyers Heats Up The Tudors Again

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was a spunky and handsome addition to yesterday's Showtime TCA event to meander through the next season of The Tudors. While Buzz has the info about his relationship with Joss Stone plus other tidbits from the day's panels, here's what Jonathan had to say about playing the famous character and what sex scenes are like:

On whether he'll gain weight like Henry VIII: "No. I’m not going to turn into the Holbein painting. . . I played it my way. I could have put on the red hair and gained the weight but it’s already done. I’m not that guy. This is not that show. . . We wanted to make something with the exciting backdrop but it's entertainment, it’s television. . .We have to play with history a little bit. I had to play him my way."
On love then vs. now: "Marriage was a commercial venture rather than a love thing. You married and you had children because children brought you heirs and security for your legacy. . . Usually they were arranged for commercial, political and state value and occasionally a love match was found."
On being comfortable with his love scenes: "Very comfortable. There are worse things you could do with yourself on a rainy Tuesday morning in Dublin than hop in bed with [these ladies]."

Are You Excited About The Tudors Series 2?

I'll be bringing you my full DVD, CD, book and cinema August Must Haves tomorrow, but here's a sneak peak at the TV show I'm looking forward to this month. Series 2 of The Tudors starts tomorrow evening on BBC2, having already aired in the States (bah!). I can't wait to see the smouldering Jonathan Rhys Meyers on my screen again, plus new addition Peter O'Toole. How do you feel about the new series - are you overly excited, or just plain over it already?

TV Dinners: The Tudors - Birds Baked In a Pie

This week's TV Dinner is a little bit spectacular, and unfortunately one that you're not going to be able to make at home (at least not easily and not without getting the health board, peta and animal control upset at you).

I have a thing for older cookbooks, and recently I came across one by food historian Esther B. Aresty called The Delectable Past (1964). In it, Aresty shares several recipes from her collection of rare and collectable books - including recipes dating back to the middle ages. While reading it, I came across a recipe for a pie that would have birds fly out of it (just like the nursery rhyme). I thought it was pretty interesting, but didn't think I'd ever have any reason to bring it up. I was wrong.

This week I was watching the second episode of The Tudors and during the episode Jonathan Rhys-Meyers presents the king of France with a large tart. The king doesn't seem that amused until he begins to cut it open and PWHOOSH! out flies a bunch of birds. When I saw it I honestly flipped out and got really excited, I honestly had to rewind it and then squeal, "Wah! I just found the next TV dinner!"

To make Pies that the Birds may be alive in them, and flie out when it is cut up.

Lindsay Back on Dating Scene and Loving It

Lindsay was looking pretty close to fellow recent-rehabber Robbie Williams at last night's premiere of The Tudors and Les Deux after party. She obviously has a weakness for European men, but we doubt it was anything more than a friendly chat. Linds already has her hands full with a few other foreigners, and she's having herself a grand time. Here's more:

I'm dating," Lohan, 20, told PEOPLE Monday at the Los Angeles premiere of Showtime's The Tudors. "I'm really happy and I'm having fun."

The actress, who split with restaurateur Harry Morton last fall and was recently spotted chilling with Stavros Niarchos at Hollywood hot spot Teddy's, said she'd gleaned some important lessons from her stint at the Wonderland Center in L.A.

"There's no way you can't learn a lot in a program like that, and it's good," she said. "I recommend it for anyone who needs it."

Well, we suppose anything that helps her wrangle it in a little bit is a good thing! It'll be interesting to see which of her newly single Euro-dude paramours - James Blunt, Stavros, or Jude -- she'll be seen with again. You never know with LL!

Jonathan Joins Joss and Billie on CBS and Showtime's Stage

TV stars from our side of the pond took to the stage at CBS and Showtime's TCA tour yesterday to chat about their shows. New mum Billie Piper took time out from Miami beaches to discuss Secret Diary of a Call Girl. My girl Buzz was there to hear Billie's revelations about the show, including the fact that she thinks Londoners tend to be more prudish about the show's sexual content than US audiences! Buzz also heard Joss Stone's comments about her role as Anne of Cleves on The Tudors, and my girl Molly's got the lowdown from Jonathan Rhys Meyers about what the sex scenes are like. All three stars got in to their snazzy outfits after the panels and went on to party.
