Getting the Brush-off

Here's a super cute video from the OnSugar blog Milo Minousky's Munchkinland.

As I mentioned last week, I really hate being brushed. Of course, Brother Minou just looooooves it. He prances in circles when he first sees the Furminator comb and then he says, "It's not a toomuh." At which point I'm like, that's not even the right movie, you nimrod. He doesn't care. His feeble mind is bloated with anticipation for the grooming to come.

I, on the other hand, would rather wear gingham bloomers (something to look into - ed.) than have those evil rakes go through my fur. Personally, I think the whole ritual is barbaric, but Mom seems to think that having cat hair covering every surface is undesirable. (Yeah, I don't get her logic either.) So every now and then, I have to suffer through the humiliation of going to the cat salon. As you will see, I act like it is the biggest imposition in the world.

(PS) Mom thinks I look like Rudolph Valentino at 1:40.
(PPS) Those are mostly meows, not hisses.

Valentino: The Last Emperor Premieres in Milan

It seems like this movie has been doing the rounds for a while, and since Valentino Garavani retired from his own label he has been busy promoting it. The designer and his business partner Giancarlo Giammetti were in Milan last night to attend the premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor along with some of Italy's most fashionable names. Naomi Campbell and her beau Vladislav Doronin were joined on the red carpet by Giorgio Armani and Margherita Missoni who looked colourful in a boyfriend blazer.

The premiere of New Moon took place last night in Los Angeles as the stars of the movie hit the red carpet. Whilst Kristen Stewart opted for an Oscar de la Renta maxi frock, Dakota went for something shorter wearing a Valentino black lace mini prom dress. What do you think of her red carpet look?

With words filled with sentiment and pride, Valentino stated, “Unfortunately, I’m very emotional and sensitive. I’m a human being and I’ve always loved my work."
After filming for two years, Valentino revealed his 90-minute documentary, Valentino: The Last Emperor, at the Venice Film Festival. The movie follows the designer's intimate life with fashion and Giancarlo Giammettii, seen below. “We had the cameras following us to the bathroom,” said Valentino. “It was a bit nerve-racking at times.”

I don't want to give away any spoilers, but look forward to behind-the-scenes fashion frenzies and witnessing Valentino’s six pugs - Milton, Monty, Maude, Margot, Maggie, and Molly (Pet, are you hearing this?) - receiving lush treatments. These pups are sprayed with cologne and decked out with diamanté chandelier earrings!

Gwyneth Paltrow Shares Her Eclectic Taste in Films

Gwyneth Paltrow flashed a little smile on her way out of a Valentino event in NYC on Tuesday night. She and her designer pal hosted their latest party together, this time celebrating the DVD release of Valentino: the Last Emperor and selling copies to benefit charity. The disc is apparently making its way to the Paltrow-Martin family collection, as she opened up about her taste in films at the bash. Showing a pleasantly surprising amount of humor, Gwyneth said, "Oh we love movies at our house, and we get everything. Everything! Every children’s movie, every documentary, every drama, every indie, every porn - just kidding about the porn!"

Valentino: The Last Emperor Premieres In Venice

Glam was the name of the game at the Venice Film Festival last night, as Valentino: The Last Emperor premiered to an audience of fashion lovers. The subject of the documentary, designer Valentino Garavani, attended the premiere to see the product of hours of filming that took place between 2005 and 2007 – when he retired as head of the fashion house. Despite his retirement it feels like he hasn't really gone away thanks to his retrospective in Paris, and this documentary!

The film has star cameos a-plenty, from Mick Jagger to Elizabeth Hurley to Gwyneth Paltrow, and Liz was one of the ladies shining on the red carpet last night. Clare Danes glittered alongside beau Hugh Dancy in her gold and blush dress, Diane Kruger looked oh-so-classy in her pale pink number, and Charlize Theron stood our amongst all the pale dresses in her deep purple gown.

FABTV: Valentino, The Last Emperor

If you didn't get a chance to see Valentino's flick in theaters, fret not, it's coming to DVD. Starting Sept. 8, you can add Valentino: The Last Emperor ($16) to your movie collection. Along with the original feature-length film, you'll get 46 minutes of bonus material - three mini features about the world of haute couture as well as the life of Valentino and business partner Giancarlo Giammetti. Just some things to look forward to: tours of Valentino's homes around the world, the making of one of his signature red dresses, and his farewell couture collection.

Gwyneth, Anne and Claire See Valentino as The Last Emperor

The ladies came out last night to celebrate at the premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor at the MoMA in NYC last night. Gwyneth hit the red carpet all in black just like her mother Blythe Danner on her arm. Gwyneth looks fantastic and if she keeps aging like her mother she'll be a lucky, lucky lady. Anne Hathaway took a short break from posing after the Oscars, but she looked gorgeous last night in winter white. Claire Danes had her fiance Hugh Dancy there with her, but took a moment to pose by herself before heading in to see the documentary. The movie has limited release starting tomorrow for all the fans passionate about learning Valentino's story.
