Love it or Hate it: Shakira at 2009 Bambi Awards
Shakira attended the 2009 Bambi Awards in Germany last night showing off her figure in (another) Versace mini dress. The Columbian singer has become quite a fan of the classic design house as she wore one of their yellow frocks at the AMAs and a silver one to the MTV European Music Awards earlier this month. The multi colour mini is from Versace's Spring 2010 collection and was teamed with some killer platforms.
Behind the Seams: Fashion Fringe Launch
Last night, the 2009 Fashion Fringe competition launched in London with a star studded party. It was hosted by Vanity Fair, Donatella Versace and Colin McDowell who began the search for the next big name in fashion. Donatella resumed her position as honorary chairperson and revealed support for 2009 from a range of guests including Natalie Massenet of net-a-porter, Antoni Burakowski, of Antoni and Alison, and Grazia's Paula Reed.

While some criticized Frida Giannini's Gucci collection for being overly commercial, and lacking innovation, Versace managed to deliver both wearable and wowable Spring designs. Short, belted dresses are simply adorable, while powerful folds and curvature proved to work for the drama-loving vixen as well. Her palate was subdued — white, powder blue, camel, yellow, black and a gorgeous steel purple.

The stars were out in New York last night at the Whitney Museum Gala Studio Party in Manhattan, where glam was the order of the night for the guests. Alexa Chung looked beautiful in pale blue, on the day the second series of It's On With Alexa Chung started on MTV in the US, while Mischa Barton went for gown in a darker shade. Shimmering nudes and metallics were also prevalent as Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen played her skin coloured dress up with a very smoky eye, and buddies Donatella Versace and Lindsay Lohan also wore pale shades.

Blake Lively sizzled on the red carpet at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards in a backless, sexy red Versace dress with a deep plunging neckline. Just when I'd forgotten the effect the fascinatingly gorgeous couple can have. Check out Angelina and Brad at the Inglourious Basterds premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Not only am I dying to see this movie (Quentin Tarantino directing, starring Brad and Diane Kruger), this is the best dressed Cannes red carpet thus far.

Supermodels continue to dominate ads and they show no signs of stopping. Case in point: Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen are spotlighted in Versace's Spring '09 ad campaign. The two blond beauts are sailing the high seas wearing refreshing black and white frocks, heart-adorned bags, and shiny platforms.
Rob, Diane, and More Make For amfAR Highlights at Cannes
Another Cannes red carpet lit up today, but this time it was about charity instead of movies as the stars came out for Sharon Stone's annual amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS 2009 benefit. After a long night of partying with Brad and Angelina, Joshua Jackson accompanied Diane Kruger to the event, while Paris and Doug represented a different kind of couple. Robert Pattinson didn't need a leading lady on his arm to stand out in another dapper suit and Josh Hartnett also provided some eye candy for the ladies.
