At my house, I can see a lot of trees, but my main view is of the San Francisco skyline. Sometimes I miss the more idyllic views that I grew up with in a rural community. Do you have a nature view at your home?

Let's Dish: What's Your Favorite Restaurant With a View?

Recently, I took you with me to Sam's Chowder House in Half Moon Bay, CA, a restaurant with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. I've always been a fan of restaurants that offer views of something other than the parking lot or the dry cleaners across the street - although, of course, it's also important that the establishment keeps it focus on the food, too.

In addition to Sam's, I also happen to love the sweeping bay windows that overlook Ocean Beach (and the Pacific) at The Beach Chalet. And in Chicago, nothing beats The Signature Room, especially at night. Tell me: What are your favorite scenic restaurants?

I wish this were the view from my front porch! It's actually the view from a farm stay at a cabin I visited in New Zealand a few years ago.

I also love the view from my home's deck, but I've lived in a few other places where the view was less than desirable. What's it like at your casa?

Forster's A Room with a View, on holiday in Italy, Miss Honeychurch and Miss Bartlett are vexed to find out that their views are not quite they were hoping for, and then an elderly man and his son offer to trade rooms, presenting them with perfect views. This encounter proves to be important to the plot. In cities like New York, a perfect view can mean a difference of millions of dollars in real estate prices. Tell me, what's your view? Do Tell: Your Favorite View

Do you have a favorite view? Mine is the Golden Gate Bridge right before sunset on a warm day. The sky turns an orange yellow color, a sure sign of another gorgeous day to come. No matter how many times I see that sight, it never gets old.

We all know the saying, a picture is worth a thousands words, so if you could choose one view to admire from your bedroom window, everyday, do tell what would be your view of choice?

The View Ladies Have a Case of Inappropriate Giggles

Sofía Vergara, the young, Latina wife on Modern Family, went on The View today. Things got off to an awkward enough start when Joy asked the Colombian actress, "So you really talk like that?" but then things got worse. Like rape worse. The hosts remarked on how young she is to have an 18-year-old son, and Sherri joked that Sofía must have had him when she was 12." Then Sofía took the joke much, much further saying, "No, no, 13. I was raped." What?! Silence. Now let's all laugh and make it go away. So they did, and Barbara steered the conversation into the less-felony-ish waters of motherhood.

In all fairness, I don't think I could've handled this much better. Obviously, it was nervous laughter from bewilderment and embarrassment. But what a clip it makes!

Do You Consider Detail Views When Shopping Online?

In my review of the Home Decorators Annandale Jute Area Rug last week, I voiced my concern that the rug didn't resemble the product image on Home Decorators website. An anonymous commenter on the post shared a similar concern, saying she would have passed on the rug from looking at the product image, but after reading my post and seeing my own photos of it, she ordered it! Home Decorators was pleased to receive my feedback and have let me know that they've already begun to add "Detail View" photos to certain rug collections, including the Annandale Rug. And, they've said they will continue to add more photos to other collections and products.

I'm really pleased to hear this, and to see how swiftly they responded. I personally rely on detail photos a lot when I shop online, and I also look at them before I recommend a product to you all. Home furnishings are investment (and a hassle to return), and if you don't have the ability to see them in person, it's important that you can get a good look at a product through photos. I know the power of Photoshop and I am wary of being fooled, so seeing detail views is reassuring to me. Do you consider detail views when you shop online?

New Moms Beware When Taking Pictures of the New Baby!

Wardrobe malfunction alert! Digital cameras and smartphones make it easy to take photos of newborn babies but their casual usage can also cause a mishap that could have Hugh Hefner knocking on mama's door. On her return to The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck dished on her lil man and revealed an embarrassing moment of her own: she took a photo of Isaiah and sent it around only to realize much later that her nipple was included in the frame. Eek! And if you think that's bad, one of my friends took a picture of her sweet pea but didn't realize her naked body was in the background. Thanks to a mirror in the room, the sleep deprived mother sent out a full frontal nude shot that made its way through her email address book with her sweet boy smiling in the forefront. So before mommy clicks away, she better make sure the porn police won't have reason to come after her!

Paula Deen's Awkward Appearance on the View

Food Network host Paula Deen appeared on The View this week to promote her new children's cookbook. Those who caught it know that it wasn't pretty to watch. Put the sassy Paula Deen and the straight-laced Barbara Walters together, and you get an uncomfortable dynamic.

As the ladies of The View sit behind a stupendous spread of fried chicken and other Southern comforts, Paula licks strawberry cake off her fingers and pictures of macaroni and cheese grace the background. Walters then forces the queen of Southern cuisine to answer a rather serious question:

This is a cookbook for kids. Obesity is the number one problem for kids today. Everything you have here is enormously fattening. You tell kids to have cheesecake for breakfast . . . Does it bother you that you are adding to it? No? Not at all?

Stunned, Deen bumbles something about moderation - "you know, we don't eat this every day" - to an unconvinced Walters. But Walters has a point. Not one food item in the supposedly kid-friendly spread could be considered wholesome and healthy. Yet, Barbara comes down hard on Paula. Who comes out on top? The Kanye West and Taylor Swift Drama - Totally Justified or Getting Blown Out of Proportion?

Kanye West broke down on Leno last night talking about his behavior at Sunday's VMAs. This morning, Taylor Swift stopped by The View to discuss her thought process at the moment it all went down and say that he hadn't personally reached out to her yet - though since then he apparently has and she accepted his apology. Radio stations are going so far as to stop playing Kanye songs and even Donald Trump called for a boycott of the rapper. The punishment is starting to seem just a little harsh and while most of you don't forgive him Kanye has apologized now in a few different ways. So what do you think about all the Kanye and Taylor drama - it's all totally justified or is this whole thing being blown out of proportion?
