Fab Cover: Natalie Portman for Interview

Natalie Portman has long been one of my favourite actresses. She is amazing on screen and always looks great on the red carpet. She even looked good in 2006 when she shaved her head for her part in V for Vendetta! This month she is gracing the cover of Interview Magazine with a funky cover.

She was shot by Vinoodh Matadin and Inez Van Lamsweerde for the publication and interviewed by Jake Gyllenhaal. In the interview she talks about her latest role in Brothers, Obama, obscene hip hop ("I love it so much. It makes me laugh and then it makes me want to dance"), and being scared of everything!

Fab Ad: Claudia Schiffer for YSL

Last month Claudia Schiffer announced that she is to be the face of YSL for Spring 2009. As part of the return of the supermodel Claudia replaced Naomi Campbell at the French fashion brand. Today we can reveal the first image from the campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

The classic beauty is posing in front of the iconic Hollywood sign and will grace the front of the fourth edition of YSL's Manifesto newspaper. The free paper will be available on Valentine's Day next year.

This one image doesn't give much away but what do you think of it? It's quite different to Naomi Campbell's campaign last season.

Fab Flash: Claudia Schiffer For YSL

This season we are truly seeing the return of the great supermodel, as age defying beauties like Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell continue to dominate the magazines. Whether appearing in shoots for glossies (like Crawford appearing in this month's French Vogue) or heading ad campaigns (like Campbell for for YSL) it seems you can't escape these beautiful ladies.

This week it has been revealed that Claudia Schiffer is to be the face of Yves Saint Laurent's Spring '09 campaign following in the footsteps of Campbell. Schiffer revealed the news at Vogue's party on Monday night where she wore a gorgeous dress from Louis Vuitton's Autumn line.

She also added that she would be working with Dolce & Gabbana and Salvatore Ferragamo for Spring too. The YSL ad campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin last month in LA.

Fab Flash: Claire Danes to Represent Gucci Fine Jewelry

Claire Danes has quite the tough act to follow. It was announced today that she is replacing Drew Barrymore, who was Gucci's first ever celebrity campaign face, as the Gucci Fine Jewelry girl.

Drew's ads were stunning, and hopefully Claire's will be just as iconic - she's being photographed by the same duo as Drew - Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

As for the reasoning behind the choice, Gucci's designer Frida Giannini explains: "Claire's sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent, and strong character embodies today's Gucci woman." The ads are set to debut this Fall.

Fall ad campaign shoots are jumping into full swing, and the latest intelligence comes from Paris, by way of Yves Saint Laurent.

Rumor has it Spring YSL campaign model Kate Moss has been ousted in favor of another controversy-embroiled supermodel: Naomi Campbell. She was supposedly photographed recently in Paris by famed fashion photographer duo Ines van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Moving from supermodel to supermodel . . . not too shabby!

Fab Ad: Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer '08

I think it's safe to say if you book Kate Moss for an ad campaign she can single-handedly ameliorate the brand. Then, choose to have hubbie/wife duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shoot, and, well, you get something quite fabulous. As you know I'm on a YSL kick, especially in the handbag arena, and the designer of 2007, Alber Elbaz, may have some stiff competition in the Year of the Rat. As for Kate, she's the chic girl who would never be caught yearning for fashion through a store window, but she is. That's the power of YSL.

Prepare yourself for a steamy August French Vogue. Word on the rue is Fab fave model Daria Werbowy has been booked as the only muse for the whole book. As well, the only photographers snapping her are Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Here is sexy scuba Daria in the magazine in '07 . . . can, not, wait.

When we found out Claudia Schiffer was Stefano Pilati's Spring muse, we were pretty sure the outcome was going to be Fab. See for yourself.

Shot in LA, right smack in front of the Hollywood sign "Y," it is stunning. Though you can barely recognize Claudia's face - it's more just a statuesque blonde in a long and lean navy ensemble - you can tell it's a pro in YSL garb. And notice how the silver grid shoes tie in with the black grid structure. Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, this image will also serve as the cover of YSL's next manifesto. On Our Radar: Gap Launches Limited Edition Artist T-Shirt Collection

Gap will be unveiling a limited edition artist t-shirt collection set to launch in select stores and online May 15th. In celebration of the 2008 Whitney Biennial, Gap has joined forces with top contemporary artists in producing limited edition artist tees. Some artists include Chuck Close, Jeff Koons, Marilyn Minter, and Kiki Smith with t-shirt designs ranging from political messages to colorful abstract confections. I especially like the bright burst on the Glenn Ligon tee. The classically Gap ad campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin - Fab, as usual. Something to look forward to!

Freaky or Fabulous? Carmen Kass, the Alien

Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin have shot many a fashion editorial but this one for V Magazine may be the creepiest yet. It's almost painful to look at model Carmen Kass' protruding bones and alien-like neck. Her face is pretty, but it looks as though her head is going to snap off at any moment. Freaky! What do you think?
