Coveted Crib: Slaughterhouse Fine

A former slaughterhouse in Ulricehamn, Sweden, was transformed into this fabulous coveted crib. Outfitted with furniture and accessories from around the world, the space feels much more metropolitan than you'd expect from a rural Swedish home. An extensive collection of artwork is mixed with both vintage and modern furniture. Antique Corinthian columns mingle with an Arne Jacobsen Swan chair, worn wood surfaces with plush velvet, and IKEA with Philippe Starck, creating endless serendipitous juxtapositions. Love It or Hate It? Vintage Playboy Sign

I can see giving this vintage painted wood sign (inquire for price) as a tongue-in-cheek housewarming gift to some of my most fabulous male friends, but they'd have to be pretty fabulous indeed to pull it off. In the right environs, it might fit perfectly, but you'd have to work hard to make sure that this midcentury sign doesn't become a frat-tastic accessory.

Cool Idea: Everything in One Hue

Melanie, of the fabulous Etsy shop Plum Cushion, lives in a seriously stylish 1941 Cape Cod in Seattle. The bones of her home are nice, but it's her cool palette and ability to modernize vintage pieces that really make it hip. One of my favorite elements was how she painted her Rococo sconces and mirror and her Chinoiserie console table to match the blue of her walls. Obviously, each piece has an ornate shape that could really stand out if painted in a contrasting color. But they're all so shapely, it would be too busy and competitive if that were the case. Painted to match the walls, her accessories pop and make you give the quaint corner a second look.

Casa Shops: Adelante and Curb Service

Whenever I visit friends in Austin, I try to drop by Adelante, a hip, laid-back women's clothing and lifestyle boutique. The shop, which has been in Austin since 1992, and called San Antonio home before that, is a family-owned boutique that offers everything from shoes, dresses, and jewelry to home accessories and vintage, refurbished furniture.

The owner, Tricia Roberts, has a great eye for fashionable, affordable finds, and I always find some must-have item when I stop by.

Now, Adelante has started Curb Service, a mobile shopping adventure that's fit into a retrofitted 1976 Airstream. Available for rent for private parties, showers, or other special events, this adorable trailer was once Tricia's husband's hunting getaway. To see how it's been transformed, read more.

The Airstream has certainly undergone a major transformation. It now features Palm Springs mod decor with fabric by Trina Turk, vintage accessories and furniture, and sea grass carpeting. For a private party, the Airstream is decked out in fashion, accessories, vintage cowboy boots, home accessories, and fashion finds, all for the partygoer's shopping pleasure.

Dita Von Teese in Christian Dior Leather Dress: Love It or Hate It?

Oh, the things I would do to be invited to a Christian Dior runway show at Paris Fashion Week. Luckily, Dita Von Teese doesn't have to worry about such minor details. The Wonderbra ambassador attended the show looking like a vintage-meets-badass babe in a decadent low-cut Christian Dior black leather dress complete with black leather gloves. While most leather frocks are short and skimpy, Dita kept her ensemble proper with a longer hemline and regal accessories. I'm in lust with her structured leopard print bag and Christian Louboutin patent t-strap pumps. What are your thoughts?

Fab Field Day: Vintage Fashion Fair

Trying to find the perfect additions to your wardrobe doesn't have to start and end on the High Street. If you are looking for something truly unique then you might want to broaden your search to vintage markets and fairs. I recently attended the Primrose Hill vintage fashion fair which takes place once a month at the Cecil Sharp House on Regents Park Road.

This is a great place to earn your fashion stripes as you can hunt for a one off frock, amazing accessories or classic designer pieces. There was an aray of costume jewellery on offer along side investment designs by the likes of Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Vivienne Westwood. There was also some gorgeous milinery and lace gloves which I completely fell for.

Prices were quite reasonable with bargain baskets at many stalls with funky pieces for under £10. There is a fair this weekend in Archway at the Byam Shaw School of Art between 11am and 5pm.

eBay Find of the Week

All these extravagant red carpet affairs have me dreaming about fancy accessories. Wouldn't this Vintage Black Mesh Chain Purse look amazing on the arm of vintage-loving Zooey Deschanel or Rachel Bilson? I like that it's antique and modern at the same time. You can wear it as a shoulder bag, a clutch, or crossbody - it looks good all ways.

Postage Sleeve For the MacBook Is Checkpoint Friendly? Wow

Shocker! I can barely get my laptop through airport security when it's sans a bag, so don't even get me started about attempting to try a checkpoint friendly bag! Two things instantly struck me about this vintage postage sleeve ($37) for a 13.3-inch MacBook - first of all, it's in a league of all compared to other laptop sleeves, and secondly, I can't even imagine TSA allowing this (with your laptop inside) through the security machine!

Certainly something you'd see in one of our unique laptop sleeves slideshows, this padded MacBook sleeve is made up of four separate sections that wrap around your laptop like a present for just the right fit. I don't know if I'd say it's a fashionable tech accessory, but if it does get you through the security checkpoint faster, then that makes its geekiness well worthwhile.

Kermit the frog may think it isn't easy being green, but it sure is easy to be green with gadget envy. You can never have enough, so choose wisely and purchase items you will treasure as long as they live. If you love all things green, grass-tinted gizmos are calming, unisex and a little retro (doesn't this Bermuda headset remind you of vintage cars?). The earthy hue is unusual for computers, but plentiful in the accessories world. Go ahead, get your green on.
