On Our Radar: Vogue's Online Reality Modeling Show

America's Next Top Model just got some more competition. Vogue has teamed up with IMG's fashion and media divisions to produce an online reality modeling show titled Model.Live. Essentially, the show follows three models as they attend casting calls, strut the runways, and run through airports headed to New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks. The one with short hair, Madeline, looks like a cross between Agyness Deyn and Irina Lazareanu. The first of 12 eight-minute episodes will air August 19, here's a snippet of what's to come.

A new day-in-the-life-of-a-model show is on the horizon: Model.Live is debuting tomorrow night on Vogue.tv. We briefly mentioned it before, and here is another preview.

This show is different from the rest in that it's online and interactive - fans will be able to keep up with the daily happenings and communicate with the show's stars Cato, Madeline, and Austria via bebo.com. And this is cool: you'll be able to shop the models' clothes as they go from go-see, to agency, to the runway, and all the sidewalks in between. Ultimately, you can witness what it takes for a green model to be successful. All three gals have vastly different looks; my interest goes to Dominican Republic-born Austria, the youngest (and prettiest!). Check out the preview - mostly agents sitting around a table strategizing about the three hopefuls - and as of Aug. 22, new episodes will be broadcast every Friday for 12 weeks.

Behind The Seams: Model.Live Launch Party

Remember Madeline, Austria, and Cato from Vogue's new modeling reality show, Model.Live? The online show is now four episodes in, but last night at the Bowery Hotel in NYC, Vogue.TV and IMG hosted a celebration for the launch. Of course, the models and now-reality-starlets showed up looking gorgeous in different variations of LBDs. Cato (right) is my favorite; who's yours?

Actress Becki Newton was also there, as were famous models Jacquetta Wheeler, Kristy Hume, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, and socialite Olivia Palermo. As you can imagine, there was lots of posing, smiling, and socializing. Sounds like my kind of party.

Girls on Film: Daria Werbowy, Vogue Nippon, Nov. '09

I will never tire of Daria Werbowy's amazingness. For Vogue Nippon's November issue, the Ukrainian-Canadian model strutted her stuff in an editorial dubbed "Girl of the Golden Field." Now this is how Fall dressing should be: cozy sweaters, sherpa-lined leather jackets, ponchos, boots, and fur coats. Daria continues to astonish me with her scintillating bod - boobage alert! - and piercing blue eyes. Of course, her hair is tousled to perfection – Bella, how can I get this look? Furthermore, the prairie backdrop is beyond beautiful. Keep clicking for more Daria action . . .

There are editorials that wow, then there are editorials that WOW. Can you guess which one supermodel Kristen McMenamy would deliver when paired with photographer Steven Meisel? This Vogue Italia editorial is strictly titled "McMenamy." And really, that's all the words it needs because the photos are the real stunners. They remind me - not that I needed a reminder - why Kristen was a hot hit in the '90s. Recall for yourself . . .

Which Vogue Italia Cover Do You Think Is Most Fab?

A while back, we announced something groundbreaking: the July issue of Vogue Italia would feature all black models. While I don't think it should be a big to-do, because this should be happening anyway, unfortunately it is and it's not happening. This rides on the heels of the runways being so white washed as of late. And let's not forget the late and great Yves Saint Laurent, who encouraged the use of African-American models and launched the career of Naomi Campbell.

The proofs are in! Naomi, Jourdan Dunn, Liya Kebede, and Sessilee Lopez can all call themselves cover girls because each has a separate cover, photographed by Steven Meisel. Not to pin these gorgeous gals against one another, but just as friendly competition, which Vogue Italia cover do you think is most Fab? And while we're on the subject - do you think this is a step in the right direction for model diversity?

It was a fashion explosion last night at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. Designers, models, editors, photographers, and muses gathered in NYC to see who would win the grand prize - $200,000 and a year of mentoring. Presenters included Lanvin's Alber Elbaz and Nicole Kidman, while Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenberg played hostesses. Models and actresses dressed up to the freshest of American designers - there were smiles all around. The biggest smile was worn by the winner, Brooklyn-born designer Sophie Theallet, and the runners-up were Patrik Ervell and Monique Pean.
