December is just a few days away, which means the world of pop culture will officially take a turn for the merry. November dabbles in holiday stuff, but next month is where it really all begins. Growing up, I always considered Thanksgiving to be the kickoff point for watching holiday movies, but these days the fun seems to start even earlier (e.g., A Christmas Carol has been playing for weeks).

After 123 hours and 10 minutes of continuous movie watching (yes, that means zero hours of sleep), the Netflix Movie Watching World Championship in NYC's Time Square has come to a close. Yesterday, Susan Sarandon was on hand to deliver the final movie Thelma and Louise (which was movie number 57) to the winners Suresh Joachim and Claudia Wavra. Joachim, a Sri Lanka native who now resides in Toronto, and Wavra of Petersberg, Germany achieved a new Guinness World Record for most consecutive hours spent watching movies.

Following on from last week's part one of my interview with the Me and Orson Welles cast — Zac Efron, Claire Danes and Christian McKay — and director Richard Linklater, here's part two! Last night the cast attended a screening of the film in NYC alongside Claire's husband Hugh Dancy, Precious actress Gabby Sidibe and Stephen Dorff. In London last week, they discussed finding Orson Welles, knowing who he actually was (!) and Zac told us about his worst audition.

It's Tuesday, so you know what that means — new DVD releases just in time for the Thanksgiving break! I've already shared some fresh music picks, but here are three movies to add to your Netflix queue for the weekend.
Funny People
Adam Sandler plays a comedian who tries to turn his life around and befriend a past love (Leslie Mann) after being diagnosed with a blood disorder; Seth Rogen steps in as his idealistic assistant.

Zac Efron and Claire Danes were out and about in NYC yesterday to continue promoting their new movie Me and Orson Welles. The duo stopped by The Early Show for an interview and later met up again for a screening at night. Zac and Claire were full of compliments for each other as they make the rounds and have some cute back and forth banter during their morning appearance — watch it after the jump.

There are tons of great ones, and now we're pitting them head-to-head in our brand new faceoff game!

Robert Pattinson spent his weekend relaxing in New York after the New Moon screening in the city on Thursday. On Friday night he had dinner at La Esquina, having worn a sexy green jacket earlier in the day for his trip to a guitar shop. Come Saturday Rob was spotted back in his black leather jacket leaving the Bowery Hotel after hanging out with pals, and his old friend Daniel Radcliffe has praised the way his Harry Potter costar has handled all the attention, saying: "He seems to be coping well".

I haven't been wowed by the promos for The Stepfather, but it does have Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley in it, so maybe I can be persuaded to go see it on Friday.
Based on the 1987 original, the film follows Michael (Badgley), a son who returns home from military school to meet his mom's new boyfriend, David (Nip/Tuck's Dylan Walsh). But once a neighbor suggests that his stepfather looks like a suspect on America's Most Wanted, Michael gets suspicious that the guy is not as nice as he seems [cue creepy music].

Robert Pattinson spent his Friday night out in NYC at dinner at La Esquina, still smiling after a rigorous few weeks promoting New Moon around the world. The night before he attended one final screening of the movie before sneaking off to a private afterparty with Kristen Stewart. Have you checked out the movie — watch our Pop review here and Buzz's here.
