Now that the weather is warming up, I bet a lot of you are getting psyched to walk and run outside. The problem is most of the country is dealing with melting snow, so it's still pretty wet outside. It's no fun to run outside and get soggy feet, so if you're looking for a pair of waterproof sneaks, check out these from New Balance ($120).

This is Keen's Ochoco Waterproof shoe. It's made of eVent waterproof material that's breathable to keep your feet dry and comfortable. The midsole offers strong support and structure for long runs on uneven terrain.

If you love to run in the woods, on trails, or through the summer rain, you are going to need a serious shoe to protect your feet and keep 'em dry. This is why I'm loving these Adrenaline Gore-Tex XCR Mid trail runners made by The North Face (a name I trust).
They're extremely lightweight (the complete pair only weighs 1 lb 13 oz), and they're made of Gore-Tex XCR.

Even though Summer air is so hot and humid, I still try to exercise outdoors. The other day as I set out for a run, I noticed a light sprinkle in the air; I was so relieved. Rain can definitely keep you cool, and it can also be more challenging than exercising in dry weather.

Kudos to all the runners out there who don't let Winter prevent them from continuing their outdoor runs. If you bundle up in the right gear, running in the cold can actually be really fun and invigorating. The one thing you have to worry about is snow and ice on the road or trail.

Dear Fit,
I've been running consistently, at least three times a week for a couple years now. I live where the Winters are cold and snowy, and last year I moved all my workouts and runs into a gym, but I really didn't love it. I decided that this year, I wouldn't let the cold stop me from continuing my outdoor runs.

Since it's been so hot and humid, I was psyched the other day when I was about to set out on my run, and noticed a light sprinkle falling from the sky. While it's true that the rainwater can keep you cool, running in the rain isn't any easier. It can be more challenging since the water can add extra weight and get in your eyes.

Die-hard runners keep running even when temperatures plummet and there's snow and ice on the ground. In order to exercise outdoors in the freezing cold, you've got to dress properly so you stay protected from the chilling wind but also dry and comfortable when you begin to sweat. Here's a basic list of how to layer up before a Winter run.

I am in love with the Nike + iPod Sports Kit. It comes with a receiver that attaches to your iPod nano, and a sensor that fits into your Nike sneakers. It allows you to keep track of the time, distance and calories burned during each of your workouts.
