In San Francisco, the weather can be hmm . . . how do I say . . . so up and down that I really do depend on my daily cell phone weather forecast deliveries to know what the heck I should wear each day! I like Umbrella Today because it texts me whenever I need to take an umbrella to work with me, but I also like Sleeves, since it says if I need to wear a long-sleeved shirt, a t-shirt, or if I can go sleeveless!

Well I think I've found one that tops em' all. With Obama Weather, you just enter your zip, and there's our cute President Barack Obama showing you a full weather forecast, and the most appropriate attire to wear each day! I'm loving it!

Study Suggests That We Think Clearer on Sunny Days

New research reveals that not only are people more moody on cloudy days, but they actually have cloudier brains too! During a study on strokes, researchers coincidentally discovered a positive correlation between cognitive impairment and gloomy weather. While the study focused on people already prone to depression, experts say the findings can likely be extended to others. So you're probably better off making big decisions on days when the sky is clear and so is your mind.

I don't know what it is about travel websites or websites about weather, but I'm obsessed! I've already admitted to having a problem predicting the daily weather forecast, so any site or app that helps me in this task is always appreciated.

Sleeves is a fun, simple, forecast website that will tell you if you should wear long sleeves, short sleeves, go sleeveless, or wear two layers. Just enter your zip code, click go, and voila! Your personal forecast in one of the most simplest forms!

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

First of all, join the Website of the Day group.
Click the pink "Share" menu on the top left side of the page.

Click "Next."

Get Daily Weather Forecasts Right on Your Cell Phone

I ran into a little problem the other day. To make a long story short, I overestimated how warm the weather was going to be and froze my butt off at work. I'm sure by taking one look at my Summer attire, FabSugar must have wondered if I had paid attention to the frigid forecast - which I didn't - but boy did I learn my lesson. I've become a bit reliant on Umbrella Today for notifications on my cell when it's going to rain, so after my error in weather judgment, I've decided to take action.

The Weather Channel has a weather alert service that can either (or both) text you or email you the weather forecast each day. Just enter your location, phone number, and what time you want your alert delivered, so you'll never get caught out in the cold again!

Got Headaches? Could Be the Weather

I've always wondered if weather-induced headaches are an old wives' tale, and I'm not the only one. A group of medical researchers in Boston recently conducted a study of 7,000 emergency-room patients to see if weather really could cause migraines. Turns out, it can, but differently than you might think.

According to NPR, a study published in the new issue of Neurology found that spikes in temperature often cause headaches. The researchers studied 7,000 patients suffering from both migraines and unspecified headaches, and for both groups, a big uptick in temperature correlated with a higher incidence of headaches. But what about that other common headache culprit, barometric pressure? To find out, read more.

Though the correlation between headaches and barometric pressure was weaker, the docs did notice that headaches were often preceded by low barometric pressure in the days before a hospital visit. Humidity and pollution variables, at least in this study, didn't seem to matter. Here's more:

According to the findings, on the days of the hospital visits the air temperature tended to be warmer. In fact, for every 9 degrees Fahrenheit increase in temperature, [Dr. Kenneth] Mukamal found a 7.5 percent increase in the risk of a headache severe enough to provoke a trip to emergency room. . . . It's not that the hotter it was, the more likely patients were to have a headache, Mukamal stresses. Rather, it is the temperature increase that matters.

I've definitely gotten headaches when the weather suddenly gets warmer, so I find this news pretty enlightening. How about you?
