Out of Sight, Not Out of Mind: Wedding Gown Storage

I've haven't purchased a wedding gown (yet), but I can tell from married friends that preserving that gorgeous and way-too-expensive gown is of top priority once all the celebrating is over. So how does one properly store their favorite wedding dress?

First things first, never store your dress in a plastic bag for more than a few days. Just like you, your gown needs to breathe.
Do not hang your dress like you would any normal garment. Chances are your dress is heavy so hanging it for a long period of time will not only take up room in your closet, it will weaken the seams.
Start by laying your dry-cleaned dress flat and covering the whole thing with white tissue paper. I'd wear gloves during this process so as not to get lotions or oil on the dress.
Next, fold and store your dress in a sealed cardboard box. Try to get a very large box to avoid folding the dress too many times.
Be sure to store away from direct sunlight to prevent your dress from eventually turning yellow. The best spot is on a high shelf in an interior closet.
Don't forget to check up on your dress once a year to make sure it's in good condition.

First of all, congratulations on 32 years of marriage. You have a reason to celebrate if I've ever heard of one! Since you never got to fulfill your dream of a glamorous wedding dress the first time around, by all means, go for it this time, Tammie!

Renewing your vows is a celebration between you and your husband so you guys get to make up the rules. It is absolutely not inappropriate to wear an elaborate dress even if it's not your first time saying I do, so go make your wedding dress dreams come true and enjoy being a princess for the day. Celebs Party After Closing Time at Stella McCartney's Boutique

After walking the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala with Kate Moss in her design, Stella McCartney kept the celebrity party going on the West Coast with a screening of The Party. Nicole, Joel, Charlize, and Stuart were just a handful of the stars that came out to watch the movie in Stella's LA boutique. Stella's already set her sights on designing a dress for another starlet who wasn't in the house - she wants to make Scarlett Johansson's wedding gown even though the bride doesn't know it yet. She joked about her vision last night, saying, "You know, some kind of dodgy, black thing. Latex! Latex for Scarlett!" We wonder how Ryan would feel about that.

Penn's Stepfather Brings Out a Very Gossip-y Crew

Penn Badgley had almost the whole cast of Gossip Girl out to support him at last night's premiere of his new movie, The Stepfather in NYC. Not only was his girlfriend Blake Lively out and looking sexy in leather pants, but Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr all hit the red carpet. Most brides-to-be would include Vera Wang, InStyle magazine, and the Fashion Institute of Technology as their wedding-prep dream team. Others, like the following women, will settle for Charmin, Cheap Chic Weddings, and Ripley's Believe It or Not! They're winners in the fourth annual design-a-wedding-dress-with-toilet-paper contest. They could only use TP, tape, paper, and glue. Dang - these dresses are awesome! I just hope they were allowed to use 3-ply. They look pretty delicate.
