When I meet someone new — male or female — I often find myself glancing down at the left-hand ring finger to see if he or she is wearing a wedding band. I can't help it: I think it's funny that such a small symbol can reveal such a big fact. Are you guilty of this?

I'm sure you all noticed — if not that night, by now after seeing all the coverage — that Michelle Obama was not wearing her wedding ring on inauguration night. Since she wore that enormous diamond sparkler on her left middle finger, her wedding band might have been too much, but its absence sure has people talking!
Leaving the symbolic token of marriage at home doesn't necessarily mean anything, but what's your take on giving the ring a rest every once in a while?

Wearing a wedding ring represents something different to every married couple. Most consider it a symbol of their union, but some look at it as just a really nice piece of jewelry! Of course wearing a ring won't guarantee fidelity or life-long happiness, but it sure does act as a constant reminder of the vow you took to love and honor your partner.

We've all had at least one relationship that died, but what if your relationship had been consecrated by marriage? How do you truly move on and feel some closure? Sure, you can become a barfly, travel to India, or start "journaling," but that's not true closure.

Some girls never let go of their wish to be princesses, and thanks to designer Kristie Kelly, they don't have to. The Kirstie Kelly for Disney by Mouwad collection, shown at Bridal Week in New York, features six engagement rings and wedding bands that pay homage to Disney's leading princesses.
The engagement rings, named after Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, and Belle are supposed to be "subtle references to the personalities of each princess."
