Earlier today, I told you that I'm hanging out at West Coast Green, a green building conference in San Jose, CA, which explores ways to make all structures more sustainable. If you live in the Bay Area you should certainly get your butt over to the San Jose Convention Center and learn all you can about sustainable home construction and design, as the conference ends Saturday. But, whether or not you're in the 'hood, you can still hear about what's going on thanks to this video from Day 1:

You might not know it from looking at this photo, but the Harbinger display house at this year's West Coast Green is made from shipping containers. What's equally impressive is the beautiful interior design, which was done by Ecofabulous. Take a look at the slideshow for the gorgeous, eco interiors.

Reader Akasha recently added a stunning collection of photos to our Cool Capture group, and because of her submission, she's now automatically entered in our CanvasPop Print giveaway!
This was the first time I had been back to New York since I moved to the West Coast 15 years ago. The city had changed so much I barely recognized it.

Of all the outrageous performances at Sunday's American Music Awards, it's American Idol's Adam Lambert who caused the biggest stir. His appearance, which was aired at the end of the show near 11 p.m., involved Adam pulling a dancer's face towards his crotch region and kissing the keyboard player. It apparently prompted over a thousand complaints and was edited for the West Coast broadcast.

Last night on the American Music Awards, Adam Lambert gyrated along dancers dressed in S&M inspired costumes. At one point, the American Idol alum pulled a dancer's face toward his crotch. Of course, not everyone was entertained — the spectacle was edited from the West Coast broadcast.

During our interview with Rachel Roy, we talked to the designer about growing up in the Bay Area (Monterey), and the differences between East and West Coast life. Interestingly, Rachel described the East Coast as more segregated compared to the West:
"I grew up in the Bay Area and went to college on the East Coast. Things were quite segregated, and I wasn't into that.

From moving to the West Coast, to the influx of celebrity judges, to casting drama over talent, five gay men have offered their theories on why viewership of Project Runway fell 25 percent between the premiere of season six and its ninth episode. One faults having three female finalists (though that happened on Bravo's final season too) saying:
"I am all for diversity and playing to your audience’s demographic, but please. And not to sound completely misogynistic, but three women as finalists?

Jennifer Garner was in charge of Violet's school run all week, and once yesterday rolled around she took advantage of the chance to catch up on some shopping. Violet was by her mom's side for a trip to Gelson's supermarket, and two of her dolls even went along for the trip. Seraphina completed their trio for dinner, when they all grabbed a bite at Toscana in Brentwood.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner may be dominating the promotional circuit right now, but they're not the only cast members with something to say about New Moon. I had the opportunity to chat with costars Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, aka Emmett and Alice Cullen, during their recent stopover in SF. They chatted about their characters, the vampire craze, and what it's like to be a "Twilight celebrity."
