Whoa, this Pleaser Women's Ballet Ankle Boot ($138) should come with a serious warning. How about,"Likely to cause a broken ankle"? I've seen some crazy footwear, but this is asking for a hospital bill.

Toms Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie has been all around the world, but he's about to embark on a different, more luxurious adventure: he's launching an exclusive holiday collection at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman this week. "From a design perspective, we were trying to preserve the classic silhouette of Toms, but give an upgraded and exclusive version for the Neiman and Bergdorf customer," Mycoskie said.
Look out for high-quality fabrics like metallic linens for women and silk-tie for men.

Academy-award winning actress Emma Thompson was so moved by the plight of a Moldovan woman who survived being trafficked for sex, she decided to create an art installation that would help viewers to put themselves in Elena's shoes and bring attention to this growing problem.
"Journey," which will be exhibited in New York City Nov. 10 to 16 in Washington Square Park, tells the story of Elena, a woman from the Eastern European republic of Moldova who, at age 18, was promised a secretarial job in England.

The fitness world may not have a fashion week, but this weekend I previewed some of Nike's 2010 Spring running line, shoes and jackets, at the Nike Running Summit here in San Francisco. At the event, held the day before the 6th annual Nike Women's Marathon, designers explained their two inspiration behind their latest sneakers and running gear: runners and lightweight.
The first concept is fairly self explanatory — they design their gear to complement the motion of running and what runners need.

If you watch Glee, then you probably know Amber Riley as Mercedes — the gal that brought the house down on last week's episode singing Jill Scott's "Hate on Me." Like the feisty character she portrays, Amber told Life and Style magazine that as a full-figured actress, it's important to be happy with yourself. She says,
“You’re not your dress size, you’re not your shoe size, you’re not your pants size.

I feel bad for Barbie. After enduring decades of criticism for being too thin and having not of this world proportions, legendary shoe designer Christian Louboutin says Barbie's cankles just won't do for his red-soled masterpieces.
Louboutin is the latest in a line of high-fashion designers to makeover the iconic doll.

Whenever I visit friends in Austin, I try to drop by Adelante, a hip, laid-back women's clothing and lifestyle boutique. The shop, which has been in Austin since 1992, and called San Antonio home before that, is a family-owned boutique that offers everything from shoes, dresses, and jewelry to home accessories and vintage, refurbished furniture.
The owner, Tricia Roberts, has a great eye for fashionable, affordable finds, and I always find some must-have item when I stop by.
