Amazon Launching Kindle For Android App

Amazon Announces Kindle For Android

The good news is, even if you don't have a Kindle, you can still fill your daily reading quota by downloading books to your various Apple products or your BlackBerry with Kindle's mobile apps. And soon, you'll also be able to download titles from the Kindle store to your Android device. Announced last night, Amazon will be launching the Kindle for Android app, which gives users access to over half a million titles to read on the go.

Included with the app will be Amazon's Whispersync technology (which syncs up your Android with other Kindle apps to mark the last page you read, and organize your library), and you can read book reviews and book previews so you can try before you buy and view your digital books in portrait or landscape mode. Although no launch date has been confirmed (although it's speculated to hit this Summer), you can sign up to receive a notification of when the Kindle for Android app will be available.
