iPad users: Amazon has created a special store only for the iPad, described as a "complete rewrite" of Amazon.com and wrapped up in a free app called Windowshop. Is this app Amazon's answer to Apple's iBookstore? Kind of. While the iBookstore may be targeting Amazon's successful Kindle store (which just last month sold more copies of ebooks than Amazon did traditional ink-and-paper books), Windowshop offers Amazon's full line of products, not just books.
With the app, users can shop books, music, movies, and everything else available on Amazon in more than 40 product categories. It integrates Amazon's best and most popular features like one-click ordering and wishlists and supports Amazon Prime customers, too.
Windowshop is available for free from the iTunes Store.
