Angelina Jolie and Maddox Pick Out an iPod Touch at the LA Apple Store

How Old Were You When You Got Your First Real Gadget?

Angelina Jolie was spotted cruising the aisles at the LA Apple store earlier this week with her family in tow. Her children Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh kept busy on the computers while Angelina helped Maddox pick out an iPod Touch. Maddox is a lucky little dude for getting such a grown-up (and pricey) gadget at the age of 8, but of course kids are so immersed in technology now, getting an iPod Touch at his age may be the equivalent to me getting a Gameboy for good behavior. Do you remember how old you were when you got your first real gadget? What did you get?

My parents bought me a N64 for my 6th birthday; before that I used their Sega Genesis haha.

I'm not sure what counts as a gadget either. I got a radio when I was 10 (I wanted a tape player) and a nintendo. I probably got a discman around 13/14. A piddly personal organizer at 17. I was 20 when I get tricked into getting a "free" cell phone that ended up costing me hundreds of dollars. So I didn't try one again until I was 23. Around then I got my first laptop for college.

A strange learning-laptops when I was 5... I don't know if it counts as a gadget. You could "play" educational games including spelling or math. Oh joy ;)

The first thing I got for myself was a discman when I was 14 or so, and the first thing I ever got from my parents was a laptop when I graduated high school.

I had an Atari 2600. We got pitfall and I was so happy when I beat it and pissed that nothing happened after you beat the game - you just kept going. I was around 7. I also had table top Pac Man and Galaga around the same time. Ahh a gamer was born!

Hee, technically? Maybe 5 or 6 if you count those V-Tech Dictionaries from the 90s. :P I loved it to death. But officially I'd say 9! My brother had a Gameboy Light, but since the Gameboy Color came out shortly after he handed it down to me! :) Ahh good times
