Proof That Gizmodo's iPhone 4 Is Real: Apple Wants It Back

Although we speculated earlier whether or not the mysterious iPhone that Gizmodo got their hands on today was real (or if you even cared), I suppose this will put all the rumors to rest — Apple has formally requested the device back from Gizmodo Editor Brian Lam!

Brian has said that he'll be complying with the request, and has since made arrangements for Apple to pick up the now-infamous device.

Apple so planted this on purpose as part of a viral marketing campaign. This is great publicity for them. They didn't request they take the story down or the pictures. They just want to confirm with the world that the phone's theirs.
