Many people speculated that last month's Apple music announcement would have to do with a streaming music service. Apple bought streaming service Lala nearly a year ago, but no news of integration has surfaced. Now, a new rumor says Apple's music subscription service is still a real possibility as Apple is in talks with major music labels to offer the service, which would cost $10 to $15 per month.
There are still plenty of questions surrounding the plan, like how much music would be accessible with a subscription and for how long. As a happy Rdio subscriber (at $10 per month for unlimited web and mobile access), I don't know that I'd embrace an iTunes music subscription. But with hundreds of millions of users, such a service could be lucrative for Apple. As usual, no official word from the company, but the sources of the subscription rumor seem confident that we'll see a launch soon.
