Will Apple Replace These iPhone Headphones?

Ask a Geek Girl: Will Apple Replace My Headphones?

This question comes from reader Lauren:

So I have had my iPhone 3GS for less than six months and have loved every moment of it. Until last week, when I realized my headphones were only outputting to my left ear. The volume toggle still works on the right ear but there is absolutely no sound coming from the right earbud. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and do you think Apple will replace the headphones with ones that work?

Have you had a similar experience or any luck getting Apple to replace broken headphones? Let us know!

I agree with anonymous above me here. I want the headphones I got with my iPhone because they have a nifty little microphone/iPod control button built right in, but the rubber around the rims is coming off, and I've been debating about getting new ones. Unfortunately, they aren't under the 1 yr. warranty anymore. Any chance they might still replace them, anyone?

I happen to have another pair of headphones that work perfect with my iPhone, so I definately see if I can exchange them at the store! Thanks for the tip!

this is considered a warranty item, and they will be replaced.

Before doing anything, test them on another device - just to make sure it's not your iPhone mucked up.

Yes! Totally! They've replaced mine 2 or 3 times for the same reason... Definitely go for it!
