Ashton Kutcher Explains Twitter to Kelly Ripa

Ashton Kutcher Explains Twitter to Kelly Ripa

I normally find Live! With Regis and Kelly quite entertaining — especially with the banter between co-hosts — but yesterday my favorite celeb geek king, Ashton Kutcher, not only joined Kelly Ripa in a hosting chair, but also he brought along his beloved MacBook Pro. . . so things got really interesting. Within minutes, Ashton was not only divulging details about his Twitter obsession, but he got computer-phobe Kelly tweeting as well!

To listen to Ashton's thoughts on Twitter etiquette, just

Even if you don't physically follow them it's still like stalking for some people. They can't have a good day unless they're logged into Twitter following someone else's constant movements. I think that makes a person seem so lonely. I couldn't see myself following what someone was doing every minute of the day. I would rather read about what upcoming events the celeb was doing, NOT what they're doing every minute of the day and what they feel about their family. And after all the celebrities being on Twitter now, I frankly don't want to hear anymore about how they feel they have lack of privacy or have gained stalkers. They have brought it on themselves.

Sounds like everyone needs to agree to disagree. Some people like twitter, some don't. As for the celebs that complain about lack of privacy and salkers and all that, are they the ones that are on twitter? And what fun would it be if they just tweeted about what movie set they are on or what interview they are doing... noone would follow them! It's getting to know them on a (more seemingly) personal level. Call me crazy, but I like hearing from Kevin Smith about how much he loves (and, um, LOVES) his wife!

People who completely dependent on their cell phones/blackberries are kind of sad. Some people go almost insane when they can't use them. And the people who twitter are just...well, I just think it's unnecessary. And I don't think celebrities should complain when they start gaining more stalkers. You don't tell a million strangers what you're doing almost every minute of the day and exactly where you are in town...and then complain when you gain a lunatic stalker that annoys the heck out of you, or scares you and puts your kids in danger. Celebrities complain too much already and then too use Twitter to put themselves out there even more is ridiculous. A sensible thing to do would be just to mention what movie set or interview you will be doing in the future or something else that's harmless.

Wow, luckykarma's comment really made me angry. Kelly Ripa works hard for her fit body and it's really rude to say a comment like 'eat something'. You don't even know her. She is very fit and always going to the gym so that's why she looks so good. And Kelly isn't making up anything about not knowing about twitter. She always talks about how she hates technology and doesn't understand it. Just thought I had to defend one of my favorite girls on TV.

I think they're both so sweet :-)

That comment from Kelly was really stupid. I don't buy it. It seems so obvious she made it up just for Ashton to have something to laugh or whatever. Pathetic from her.

Computers aren't taking over the world...I swear no matter how cool I used to think Kelly Ripa something and start using a computer you weirdo.

I love this video of Ashton trying to teach Kelly how to twitter. He's so sweet and cute. What I love about Ashton is that he is down to earth and sweet, and feels like he's one of us. The video clearly shows that. I hope to see more of Ashton.

That is great. We record Kelly and husband needs to see this because he so doesn't get blogging/facebook/twitter...he too is allergic. He will not even use email. (he's 41)
