Blockbuster Files For Bankruptcy: How Do You Get Movies?

One-time movie rental powerhouse Blockbuster filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this morning. The company has more than $1 billion worth of debt and is asking for help so it can restructure, but won't be shutting all its doors. The CEO said it plans to bounce back as "the only operator that provides access across multiple delivery channels — stores, kiosks, by-mail and digital." Netflix and iTunes have a rep for killing the video store, but Blockbuster's approach aims to make its movies available everywhere. I suppose only time will tell if it works. How do you get all of your blockbusters?

I use Netflix. Besides the movies, I can catch up with my British shows.

On Demand. We really don't watch a lot of movies so Netflix isn't for us.

Our local BB is in the process of closing, I have been a Netflix subscriber from the beginning. Netflix and then streaming Netflix were the main reason for giving up cable.

Most DVDs I check out come from my library! It's free and I can keep the movie for a week.

I subscribe to netflix, but sometimes I'll get a redbox movie. Depends on the wait time on netflix. Blockbuster---I just cancelled my total access. Horrible, horrible. They are quick to ship with their games (took a day or two for me to get games, compared to up to 7 from Gamefly) but I got one broken, reported it, the replacement arrived in 3 pieces (worse than the one it was replacing). I was done. They have no selection of games, you still have to pay to stream and I don't have a close by BB B&M store.
