Charge Gadgets Via WiFi With the RCA AirPower

Save Electricity, Charge Your Gadgets Via WiFi

Most chargers require an outlet, and solar chargers require direct sunlight, but a new concept developed by RCA will soon charge your gadgets via a WiFi connection. Unlike the Case-Mate Hug, which uses a wireless signal and magnet to juice up your cell phone, the RCA Air Power will absorb excess WiFi signal and convert it to power. The exact science behind it seems a little confusing, but the engineers at RCA say it works! The first planned device will be a small, cell-phone-sized charger that will charge itself via WiFi, and then charge your gadgets through a USB connection. There are no pricing or availability details for the devices, but they're estimated to be released toward the end of this year. The most exciting news about this technology is that it's not limited to just device chargers. According to RCA, the AirPower can be embedded into any device. This means that soon, phones, MP3 players, and other battery-operated gadgets may be able to charge simply through a WiFi connection! Talk about an awesome (and electricity-saving) breakthrough.
