Choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson Wears Headphones Like a Necklace During So You Think You Can Dance

Are Headphones the New Neck Accessory?

I'm so happy that So You Think You Can Dance is totally coming through for my dancing and tech obsession! During the top eight performances on Wednesday, choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson (whom you might remember from Making the Band) coached dancers Jeanine and Brandon through a hot number (check out the entire segment here). But even hotter was what Laurie Ann was wearing during the performance: headphones! Nope, she wasn't listening to the latest hits in-between jumps and stomps, she just, you know, was wearing them.

Are headphones becoming the new hot neck accessory, even when you aren't bumping your tunes? You know I love a stylish pair of cans, but it leaves me wondering: can anyone else pull off this look?

cute headphones, but Laurie Ann is a nut case. So no to the new trend she is trying to start.

Hahah Caramel Kisses, would you still wear it, for the sake of fashion? I used to think wearing headphones as an accessory was the shit when I was much younger. That was in the early 90s. Now... I feel silly wearing anything that doesn't have a purpose, like sunglasses at night.

Heh.I love the headphones,but I have a short neck, so I think I'd do alop-sided 'I-can-hearyou-cause-one-side-is-above-my-ear' thing.

they look like Beats by Dr Dre to me.. but then again, untrained eye. Kobe Bryant was fined by the NBA for going to a press conference wearing headphones around his neck... violates dress code or something?

There are a lot of great headphones coming out, especially from Skullcandy, but who really wants to walk around with two big blogs sitting on your neck?

I'd just like to know what headphones she was wearing, to be honest. I'm looking to replace mine, and I don't really like the ones you guys showed in your stylish headphones article. I may just break down and invest in some custom beats...
