Closer Look: Sheilas' Heels

Everybody's been talking about a new footwear design concept that hopes to make women safer and more comfortable behind the wheel without compromising their love of heels. The idea sprang from a British insurance company Sheila's Wheels, which claims to specialize in women's insurance. Their idea is a safe, flat driving shoe and a glamorous pair of heels in one - all interchangeable at a push of a button. Personally, I can't handle the pink and black action on these babies and can't imagine wearing them, but I wouldn't mind a more chic chic heel that I can walk and drive in. What are your thoughts?

i think that is a great idea. i dont like the front of the shoe though. some people carry two pairs of shoes to work well they dont have to anymore. I like them just the front and the colour i am not crazy about. heh but it is a great freaking idea!!

It looks like a cool idea. But I wonder how long the heel will last?

The shoe actually doesn't look that bad, and I LOVE the idea. Would be great for people who like to wear heels, but may have to walk a distance to work or wherever they are going.

Maybe in a nice cherry red patent...

Ok, those are cool ... but not very practical. Say you forgot to put up the heels and ran off after getting out of the car ... or wore them that way just because ... now your heel is all scratched up. =P There went your hard earned cash ... cuz I know I won't wear scratched up shoes and I'm sure most of you won't, either!

only if it didn't have that pink it would be a must have for ladies...its greaattt, even not really having the purpose of driving, but also to take off heels after a long day of work!

Is this dual functionality supposed to appeal to women's practical sides? Then if so, why is does it have a hot pink stripe down the back. They should come out with a plainer version. Also, what happens when these shoes malfunction??

that's a pretty darn invention. very samrt but i have to agree with a few ppl if you're clumsy u have a chance of folding the shoe by accident when wlking down the street-now that would be painful and a horrible sight. secondly, it's an awsome invention don't get me wrong but y biy shoes like that when u can simply take off ur shoes when ur driving or for years ladies ususally bring a pair of flats or sneakers anyway to drive and to walk in. And those shoes might not match you outfit lol

Totally agree with #21...although the idea is really neat, what if you misstep (which I do all the time, b/c I'm a complete klutz) and it folds in on you? Spraining your ankle that way just doesn't sound very fun. Not to mention, if you ever wanted to wear them as flats, the back side of the heel would get really scratched up from being the underside of the shoe in flat-form....

Love the idea, would be worried about the heel collapsing though
