I have to agree.. a little g is a little g.. its not like they were going to use a crappy sans-serif as thier new icon..

I share the same thoughts as chhavi. I was under the impression that the new Google favicon was that of the second "g" in their logo. Personally, I like the new favicon.

and I thought it's the same g as in "google's" second "g"

the line in the middle is on the complete opposite side & the google version is more uniform where the garth brooks one is skinny on top & fatter on the bottom. also the little serifthing on google is on the top & the garth one is more in the middle of the top circle. they're a LOT different.

the similarities between the garth brooks 'g' and the google 'g' seem a little overblown. there's really only so much you can do to distinguish one lower case g from another--that being said, they aren't really that identical. sure, they both look like lower case 'g's but that's about it.
