There's one company that consistently puts out great looking, yet rugged digital cameras, and it's not Sony. However yesterday, Sony stepped up its game by releasing the Cyber-Shot TX5 camera to compete with those other outdoors-y types. Coming in five colors (including a new minty-fresh green hue), the TX5 looks great with its three-inch touchscreen display and will stay that way thanks to its water-, dust-, and freeze-proof features. Douse the TX5 in up to 10 feet of water, drop it from up to five feet, and take it along in freezing temps (14 degrees Fahrenheit) without risking internal damage.
Even better, the TX5 can shoot great panoramic shots, can capture up to 10 pics in the blink of an eye, and records HD movies at 30fps with its 10.2MP resolution. Plus, the TX5 comes with all the great features you'd expect from Sony: smile, face, motion, and blink detection, and superior low-light shooting modes. The TX5 will be available this April for $349, but you can pre-order now online.
