Do You Care If You Watch the Super Bowl on a HDTV?

This past week, I was totally shocked when Digital Home announced that millions of people are putting the "Super" back in "Super Bowl" Sunday by purchasing brand new HDTVs. As some of you revealed, this could be in part due to the fact that during Super Bowl season, TV prices tend to drop, or because people purchase fancy TVs for watching the game and return them later—Say what?! Nonetheless, I can't deny how crisp and clear the picture is on a high-quality screen—whether you're watching football, ballet or American Idol. And if you happen to be thinking about purchasing a HDTV, be sure to check out Yahoo! Tech's ten tips for a Super Bowl-Worthy HDTV! On that note, do you care if you watch the Super Bowl on a HDTV?

Not a big NFL fan...so to me I could care less. But for most things HDTV is the best!

It really does make a HUGE difference. HDTV all the way! :)

I don't understand the "HDTV, LCD, Plasma it's all the same" option because they aren't mutually exclusive. Nonetheless, if I were going to watch the Superbowl and I didn't have an HDTV Plasma, I would definitely go to someone else's house to watch it. I can totally understand people wanting to upgrade their TV's specifically for something they're looking forward to seeing - especially if they have guests.

I don't watch football or the Superbowl. But for any event, I don't care if its on HDTV or not. I have a HDTV at my dorm and when I go home and watch the regular analog TV, I don't see a difference. I really don't care. It doesn't matter one whit to me. Why would I want to see the drops of sweat on the players' faces?!

HD has made watching football amazing! (it does even better things for hockey - hey you can actually see the puck!!)Our local cable company doesn't have fox high-def but they are carrying it for today only so people can watch the game in HD.

yea, sure it would be nice to watch it in HD, but i don't really care that much to be dying to watch it that way.

Nah, don't really care. I usually spend more time talking with my friends. Either way, I can't watch the super bowl today since I have to go to NEPTA [New England Piano Teachers' Association] Piano Competition...

I don't watch the superbowl so it doesn't matter but I do prefer HDTV.

I have HD but will be out shopping in my abandoned town with zero traffic instead. Superbowl Sunday is awesome for an alone day out...

Now that I own one, of COURSE I need to watch it in HD!! Hoping the bf feels the same way, he's not big on football.

OK, HD is the only way to go. Even my 9 year old notices the difference. Any time we are forced to watch our team in standard def he asks "is this retro footage?".

While I want an HDTV, it's not for football; it's for movies! I think that would make all the difference.

Since I am not that into football I don't really care. Though, I have to say HDTV does make a difference.

I have an HDTV but that doesn't matter. We're having a bunch of friends over and the party is the #1 thing!

After owning a HDTV as the only TV in my apt, and watching it exclusively for the past 1 1/2 years, not to mention the fact that I work in television, my eyes are just used to it! If I have to watch something in standard def, especially analog, it looks SOOO bad!
