Do You Read Your News Online Or From A Paper?

Last weekend I found myself making fun of my father for wiping newsprint all over his face and went so far as to bait him with "gosh Dad, newsprint is soooo 1990."

While I'm a self-proclaimed news fanatic and graduated from a journalism school that still bows down to the old-fashioned newsroom and real "papers," I find myself getting most of my news online.

I think it's more a matter of only having enough time to peruse the paper on Sunday and the fact that I have access to a couple of hundred news sources online, but my newspaper subscription has been stacking up and is left unopened most days.

Paper print definitely! Especially the weekend edition with a cappuccino on a Saturday morning... Although I a quick newsflash online when I don't have much time is fine too sometimes.

I read news online in Netvibes, because that's the only way to get it hot off the press anymore. For instance, I'm online at night (midnight or so) and read the news then, and two or three days later, when my Dad reads the news on the county newspaper website, it's like a regurgitated, stale version of Netvibes. The mainstream media really needs to catch up with the Internet media.

I get the Toronto Star everyday, and I love it. There's nothing like reading the paper and enjoying my tea. it's a nice break for my eyes from my computer screen.

The a paper newspaper has, old news, while on-line news is more up to date and it doesn't really cost anything. Plus you can get it from many different sources.

Usually I flip through the local newspaper that gets delivered free and skim through the headlines. I seldom read the news online, but I do tune in daily to the 6 o'clock news. I find that it saves time to eat and catch up on the day at the same time.

I read magazines, but i don't think those count as news sources. I get all my news online, it's way too convenient.

I think with the internet revolution the use of paper especially newspapers has really declined... people will rather go online and google the stories or check yahoo news... i for one havent picked up a newspaper this year!

I'm from Canada.. I read cbc.ca every day but I also pick up the globe and mail once a week or so. I also read a lot of news magazines which are not available in full additions online. I still like reading the paper on the balcony while sipping coffee :)

Online, all the way while I am doing other things. Who has time to read the print newspaper?

I don't subscribe, but I will pick up a paper on a newsworthy day (my town's newspaper makes you subscribe to read anything online too - bummer). Everything else, I will read online.
