Do You Travel With Your Video Game Console?

Packing for a recent trip to visit my family, my sister begged me to bring Singstar (we're a big karaoke family). I explained that if I brought the game, I'd have to bring the PS3 console, and I bet you can guess what she said. Sadly, with wanting to be a light traveler (and not wanting to pay to check bags), I have to say sorry, I can't bring it with.

The size of the PS3 makes it a bulky companion anyhow; the Wii, on the other hand, travels comfortably and easily — and there also seems to be a lot of great travel bags for the Wii, from the bowling bag variety to the monogrammed variety.

Long story short, I've got to find a bag as cute so that I can make my family happy and making my Playstation 3 my travel companion. Do your gaming consoles get around? What do you tote them in?

I would never think of bringing my console with me. If I'm visiting family, I want to visit and if I'm vacationing, I'd rather do stuff that I can't do at home. I do have my iPhone for games on the flight though. That's, of course, if I don't feel like listening to music or watching a movie.

i travel locally with my wii all the time but i have a cute little bag for it. i wouldn't take it out of town though because i hate checking bags. the lighter the better. plus you have to debag it at security. you don't want to be "that" girl!

The boyfriend and I are separated by the Canadian/U.S. border, which means we alternate weekend sleepovers. We both travel back and forth with our Xbox's so we can play together in person. :D

Is it still possible to rent video game consoles? I leave my consoles at home, which isn't saying much as I don't play very often any more, and when I do they aren't usually multi-player games. If I'm going to be traveling to places I've never been (or even places I have been), I'd rather go out to meet the locals and get a feel for place, or to catch up with the folks I haven't seen in a while.
