Do You Use TiVo or a DVR?

Do You Use a DVR or TiVo?

Yesterday, TiVo announed its latest version, TiVo Premiere. With integrated Pandora, Internet access, Netflix compatibility, a QWERTY remote control, and more, the new release will be a central media hub for viewing all kinds of content. In fact, I'm considering switching from my cable provider's DVR to TiVo for all its new bells and whistles.

Until now, I've been happy with the service, but if one box can put all of this content on my TV screen, I'm in. What about you? Which service do you use? And does this news make you want to switch to TiVo?

I've never had TiVo and I'm barely learning how to operate a DVR.

I can't get a Tivo because I have Direct TV and Tivos don't work with satellites (at least that's what I've been told). I like my Direct TV DVR, though.

I have a TiVo and think it's great. Unfortunately the company doesn't pull out any of the bells and whistles for it's Canadian boxes.

So many people love TiVo better, at least the ones I know seem to enjoy it.

We have a TiVo, and love it! We had a DVR through Comcast back when we lived in LA, and I hated it (my roommate of a few years prior had had a TiVo so I knew what I was missing). The latest TiVo sounds like it would be SO EXPENSIVE but dang, would it be awesome.

I love my Tivos. Yes I have 2. I got one as a gift in 2005 and the other one is an HD tivo. It was purchased in 2008 by my boyfriend after I showed him how much better it was than our horrible DVR.

I plan on dumping my TV service all together and doing the online thing. My Comcast Cable TV and Internet bill combined are nearly $200 in Seattle. That's nuts. And since we don't have as much time to watch TV and it's mostly online as well now... I don't see the point in paying for it, a DVR or Tivo.
