How One Guy Got Mark Zuckerberg to Help Him Propose

It all started with a poke. Back in 2007, Steve Kawalit met his girlfriend Nafis Joon after finding her on Facebook and "poking" her to strike up a conversation. Eventually, they met up for coffee, and he instantly fell for the 31-year-old dentist. When it came time for him to propose, he knew just how it would go down — at Facebook headquarters, of course.

Steve, a 32-year-old digital marketing manager, reached out to the company and arranged it so it would look like the couple had won a contest to fly to Menlo Park, CA, from their home in Toronto and get a tour of the campus. Little did Nafis know what was really going on.

Watch to see how it all went down — including an appearance from CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg — and why the couple was embarrassed to tell anyone how they really met.
