It looks like Facebook is planning to launch a new question and answer feature, and the team behind the new product is looking for beta testers. Its functionality seems, on the surface, very similar to Formspring.me and other question/answer sites like About or Ask — the new product allows users to ask questions — specific or general — regarding any number of topics.
Facebook users that are interested in participating in the beta testing phase of the mysterious new product are encouraged to submit topical questions (like "How do I get over my fear of flying?") alongside "detailed, articulate answers," citing sources like Wikipedia for examples of writing style. The best beta testers will get to come to California to meet the team at Facebook responsible for the product. Learn how to apply for this project after the break.
To apply for access as a beta tester, you have to ask three questions and provide three answers to ensure "you can write clearly and authoritatively on familiar subject matter." Exactly what they're doing remains to be seen, but it sounds to me like they're trying to create a Wiki, or similar type of database. I wonder if Facebook's privacy controls will let you comment anonymously . . .
