Another day, another use for Twitter. The latest site to rely on posted tweets is ThingBuzz, a site tracking popular products on the web. It works by searching tweets for the most talked about objects available for sale and ranks them based on number of mentions, credibility, and the time frame over which the links were posted.
It's a great way to discover new and otherwise under-the-radar products people are talking about, especially useful when gift-giving to a picky or hard-to-shop-for friend. After browsing through the products on the site grouped by popularity, trending Twitter topic, or the personality type who recommended the product (think: Mom, Geek, or Graphic Designer). Then recommend finds of your own via Twitter by retweeting your favorites directly from the site or by referencing @thingbuzz in your tweet.
