Geek Out: Do You Use Your Cell Camera More Than the Real One?

These days everyone is a street photographer. I usually carry my camera in my gigantic bag 'o gadgets, but on the rare occasion I don't have it with me I am quick to whip out my cell phone and capture the sunset or my best friend's baby. That's just what Twitpic was made for, right?

Most of you admit you put great care into selecting a phone with a quality camera because you expected to use that bad boy. Do you find yourself snapping scenes with your cell camera more often than you whip out your digital camera or SLR?

One of the reasons it took me so long to switch to an iPhone is because the cameras on two of my Sony Ericsson phones were absolutely amazing. One of them even had the same functions and quality of my first ever digital camera, and people were amazed that the photos I took on it were from a phone. Now that the 3G S is out and has auto-focus, the quality has improved, but I still miss the higher-quality photos my SE phones produced. So I don't take as many photos as I used to with my phone, but I've been packing my point-n-shoot Canon because, like everyone else, it's not practical to haul my DSLR and all its lenses everywhere!

I'm a photographer but I don't always have my DSLR with me so yeah, there are times when I use my cell camera but I find that I always end up deleting the pics because I don't like the quality! I wish I could put an L series lens on my iPhone... lol

Sort of. When I'm out at the beach or something, or I want to take pictures that are going to last, I always use my camera. I use my BB's camera for things like quick shots of me and my friends being goofy, random moments that I don't have time to grab my camera for, etc. See, my BB resides in a pocket on the outside of my purse. My camera resides within. You wouldn't believe how much of a different 20 seconds makes when grabbing that thing.

I use my cell phone camera more since I always have it with me. And it's 3.2 megapixels so the quality is ok for somethings.

BTW, that pic of that girl looks so much like Ashley Tisdale to me.

I think I use my iPhone's camera more *frequently*...but on average, my digicam takes more pictures. Does that make sense? So, I use Spicy for photos a few times a week, but if I'm going to a party or vacay or something, I take a ton of shots with my digicam.

It's just not convenient to carry my SLR - so I definitely rely on my Blackberry to capture shots during a party or wherever I'm out with friends. I would love to carry something equal in size and better in quality.
