Have You Ever Faked a Phone Call to Get Out of Something?

After discovering that making fake calls is part of some phones' instruction manuals, I felt a little better about what I'm going to confess: sometimes, I schedule fake phone calls to get me out of somewhere I don't want to be. I'm not talking professional engagements or even bad dates (though in hindsight, that wouldn't have been a bad idea), but I'll set my iPhone's alarm to a ringing phone if I know I'm going to need to get out of there.

There's no shortage of apps that make fake phone calls, so I'm pretty sure that this is a popular phenomenon. Anyone brave enough to share their fake phone call experiences? Did you get caught? (I haven't . . . yet.)
