It happens to the best of us: your number of followers on Twitter or Instagram has dropped by one, but you have on idea who it was. You're not desperate enough to scroll through your entire list of followers list to figure it out (or maybe you are), but it still bugs you. Enter these useful apps that will help track friends — and frenemies — the easy way. Now, if you could only find out why someone would do such a thing . . .
- Followers + For Instagram [1]: Billed as a service that lets you "track your lost friends," this free app lets you see how many followers you've lost in total, how many you've gained, who they are, and much more, like users not following you back.
- Find Unfollowers on Twitter [2]: Just like the Instagram version, this free app tells you who has unfollowed you and who's not following you back. If you pay more, you get extras like being able to block followers who don't interact with you.
- Friend Check [3]: For $2, this app tracks all your followers across most major social media networks. That includes Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more. Plus, it creates snapshots of your relationships, letting you spot trends and spikes, view former followers, and more.
- Friend or Follow [4]: The only nonapp on the list, this site lets you track connections from your desktop. The best part is it manages followers on social sites that many of the others don't, like Pinterest, Foursquare, and YouTube.
