How Much Time Do You Spend Surfing The Web At Work?

I often hear stories from people who spend their entire work days browsing the net, shopping online, and catching up on all the latest celebrity gossip. And then there are those who are either so busy that they don't even have a minute to check their email, or have over-protective bosses who block basic messenger services. I'm curious to know how much time you spend online during an average work day doing things other than 'work' so to speak... leave your comments below! Image Source

I'm an office grrly so I can flip back and forth whenever I want. Sometimes I have lots of meetings or am too busy, but sometimes I'm off and on all day because my workload isn't too overwhelming.

I actually get paid to surf the net, which is pretty much the American Dream of the 21st century.

I am at work right now too! I browse about 6-8 hours a day. bad i know, but like some above, my work comes in waves, and right now (and for the past 2 months) I have had next to nothing to do. They monitor internet usage, but i do what i like. If they had a problem with it they would say something. Thats ok though...end of this week I move to a new client so i may not be bale to browse at all because of being busy, which is fine with me, this can be boring, no offense to the sugar powers that be haha, but they would have to post new cotent every 5 minutes to keep my attention all day! :p

i am an internet FIEND at work, especially now since there's really nothing else to do. things should hopefully pick up once the fall gets rollin, and then it will just be obsessive email-checking and the occasional rss check.

Hahaha, I surf like 7 hours of my 8 hours of work and that is on an average day. I work at small company and everyone is pretty cool with it, Sometimes my boss even had me get him some songs from iTune.

Seriously depends on how busy it is. The slower we are, the better for the citizens ... but the more bored we are, haha.

I usually just browse on my lunch hour, mainly to catch up on personal emails. Otherwise, I tend to look for other work to do when I've downtime. Sometimes I like to gawk at the swingline stapler that was left at my new cubicle.

In my last job, there were no restrictions on web browsing, but there were restrictions on instant messaging. I worked as the only IT support for about 40 users, so work wasn't always overloaded. I probably spend about 3-4 hours a day browsing the internet. Besides, it was a PR company, so restrictions on the internet could decrease an employees productivity.
